Worst Detwiler has looked all season.  Guy has a wipe out curve that he just won't throw

He has no confidence in it.

Fan police in the area. Get the donuts.

I thought they were all downtown.

0-2 count. Ross throws, yes you guessed it, a fastball right on the inner half.

It's not a fluke. This is 5 starts in a row where teams have completely teed off on Detwiler. The league has gotten the "book" on him. He isn't surprising anyone with his fastball approach anymore.

But he could blank them for the next 4 innings and turn in a quality start that keeps the team in the ballgame. If they don't score runs in support it doesn't really matter so I won't rip him at this point.

Ross late getting to first base. Inexcusable. Easy DP with slow runner Gonzalez going to first.

You gotta get to the base to cover it, Ross

There are two outs, so I'm sure we'll cough up at least a run.

Where has the power gone?  We hit a ton of homers in April?

He has stitches.

Didn't Det wince when covering the bag in his last start? I recall him kind of cringing at something as he ran up.

Time for another 2 out dagger.

Vintage Ross from back in 09/10. I remember watching him all the time back then do this consistently. 2 outs then crapting the bed.

That probably reminded Bob of cardinals glory in game 5.

Yeah, I think he's fighting injury right now. Might not be DL-worthy but something's definitely bothering him.

We'll find out sooner or later. The beat reporters seem to be aware of this problem, at least.

If you play you have to produce or get the freak out and make room for the next guy.

Just like Espinosa playing with his torn labrum or whatever it is.

Danny Espinosa must not have gotten that memo.

This is so painful. All because he couldn't cover first base on a routine DP ball.

three innings in a row in two out turmoil. Pretty disappointing. I was hoping he'd rebound tonight and step up with the Nats in need of a big performance.

Is this looking like a Stammen or Duke kind of night?
