I doubt it. Rex Ryan may be the next coach here so I wouldn't count it. I don't think they have the right personnel for either system. How the freak is that possible?  :smh:

Eh, I think Cofield and Jenkins could play DT in the 4-3 and be good enough. Orakpo and Kerrigan could both put on 5-15lbs in the offseason and play end. We'd have some issues with depth, but I think Baker/Neild make for good run stuffing rotational guys. Absolutely no depth at DE. Linebacker may be an issue. Riley can play MLB, but who do we have on the outside? Robinson still hasn't played much. We don't have a SLB, though I suppose Riley could play that and we could sign Pat Angerer to play MLB.

As defensive coordinator that would be awesome. I would rather go back to a 4-3, but if the new coach can pull a Rex Ryan type hire the I'll be thrilled.

I think it is safe to say even if RGIII turns into an above average long term started that trade is an all timer of a horrible trade. He would have to be a superstar for that trade to be anything less than a disaster.

This season has been the summation of nightmares.

Mcnabb - 2 picks
Cousins - 1 picks
Griffin   - 4 picks

Kerrigan and Orakpo are both big enough to play DE so they wouldn't need to put on extra weight. It's a matter of having the quickness and the moves to play the position plus be willing to set the edge well. Trent Cole is the same size as Kerrigan and he was excellent in setting the edge on the run last night.

Baker is a nice run stuffer but he's a liability pass rushing. He fell down twice last night and left enormous gaps for Romo to move into and find an open receiver.

I think they both would need to put on weight to stand up to the run. Not a good idea to have two 260lb ends who speed rush all the time. Alternatively, we could sign Michael Johnson or Greg Hardy and let Kerrigan play strong side linebacker.

260lbs is not far from average any more for DEs in a 4-3. It's in a 3-4 that you have the big boy ends/DT. Kerrigan I think can play end or OLB, Orakpo I think would be a good pass rusher in a 4-3 but I'm not sure how he'd do in run support. I think the best bet is to give Ryan whatever he wants to coach te defense.

I was hearing Bill O'Brien's name thrown around on the radio this weekend- I wonder if there is any chance Snyder could lure him away from Penn State

There were two plays yesterday that I can think of where he got handled by a TE and then on another play by the FB.

Don't you think thinks would be another instance of Snyder, with stars in his eyes, grasping?

I hope he hires a player/personnel guy, then a younger coordinator from  a proven system. He needs to do the hard work  it takes to be successful owner in the NFL.

Wishful thinking denied. You get a sack of coal instead. Snyder has had 4 years to work over Allen and make him his new puppet.

Personally I just want him to go to Eric DeCosta with a very large check and then let him guy do his thing.

Carolina and Seattle are the two best 4-3 defenses in the NFL. Both are rocking at least one defensive end over 270lbs. Cincy as well.

That's an excellent option. I bet there are some guys in the Pats front office that would make good candidates, too.

I imagine adrenalin and what not helps a lot with an injury like that. My guess is that once he sat down and rested is when it really began to affect him. Either way, it sucked.

I'm no football expert.  Can anyone tell me why Riley didn't cover Murray out of the backfield.  It just seems like Riley was positioned to prevent nothing.  (Talking about the 4th and Goal play)

I mentioned that yesterday (not lookin' for kudos).    He was in a position to make the play.    He froze and didn't prevent Romo from running or Murray from making the play.    Murray had to be his responsibility coming out of the backfield.
