Slate, I know it might seem a logical comparison but the Kaepernick and Griffin situations aren't exactly the same. One, Kaepernick didn't become the starter till what, midway through his second season? Kaepernick was not recovering from a torn acl either. Then when you consider the 49ers defense and their offensive li e, things start to take a different light. Add to that the appearance at least that Jim Harbaugh actually seems to have absolute control over his team it becomes more glaring.
It is also apparent that Griffin's rush to come back became so much of a circus that he cost the team more than just picks. That being said, he clearly has the work ethic to come back from this crap show of a season. We'll know for sure if he's worth it I'd guess by mid season next year. At that point it should show if he's put in the film work and practice to be taken seriously as a franchise QB. The talent around him has been something of a detriment but at the same time, he hasn't done a whole lot to make them better either.
Giving up on Griffin already is not only short sighted and premature, its freaking ruhtarded too.
