I agree we gave up way too much for RG3, but no one was saying this crap last year. crap happens and we freaking suck this year but I don't believe that Cousins is a potential star at QB. RG3 has the potential to be a star...just don't know if he'll ever live up to it.

You don't need a star,  you need good with a good supporting cast.

He had the read option to scare defenses into leaving receivers wide open. Now that he's playing the pocket almost exclusively, he's really struggling. That's why people weren't saying this last year.

Would love Spider's reaction to Cousins play so far.

Also I could see Shannahan pulling an Any Given Sunday and trading for Cousins at his next team.
Spider is having a rough time watching Orakpo play like a stud.

And the Redskins win if Shanahan gets another job and trades for Cousins.

Why would Snyder let that happen?

Three step drop, ball immediately out, huge YAC. Who would have thunk?

Crazy how a backup QB is having a really good first start of the season against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.

See, he isn't really struggling. He's just having a mediocre season. He's held onto the ball too long and stared down receivers too frequently, but he's been hurt by a lot of drops and crappy O-Line play. Of course, now that Cousins is getting to play one of the worst defenses in the league he's shining and the media and dumbasses are gonna spin it as if he's the answer. I would've loved to see Cousins against the 49ers or for the full game against the Chiefs and see if people would still be praising him like they are after a good first half against the freaking Falcons.

It's like Josh McCown facing us.

Teams Griffin has played against who give up more PPG than the Falcons:

Bears
Eagles
Cowboys

Teams Griffin played against who give up more passing YPG:

Packers
Lions
Broncos
Chargers
Eagles
Cowboys
Vikings

That damn Kirk, only beating up on bad teams. Not facing powerhouses like Lord Griffin.

Cousins just knows where to go with the ball. He doesn't have a stronger arm. Or more accurate. He isn't smarter. He just knows what the freak he's doing because he spent two years learning this system and RG3 hasn't.

Some people will try to find any controversy to nag about.

I'm enjoying a good football season knowing Shanahan is done and just hoping for solid play. Hope a team will think he is Matt Schaub of a few seasons back and the Skins can receive a good payout.

Looks like Cousins spent an off season getting starter reps and preparation.

One thing that stays the same, regardless of who is quarterback, this team is DREADFUL in the second half.  What ever the inverse is of making adjustments is what they do at halftime.

I wouldn't say that. Most of the season we were awful in the first half. Then we'd be playing catchup against some soft defenses.

It's more like we can never play 4 good quarters consecutively. We always scum a couple up badly.

Ok, I'll amend.  If the game is still in contention, this team is dreadful in the second half.  The offense stops scoring followed by the defense stops defending.   They lost double digit leads in three consecutive games this year in the second half because the other team started playing and the Redskins went into a coma.

Matt Ryan is so good. The Falcons are awful upfront and specialists have been banged up, but Ryan is good.

Our next first down will be our first first down of the second half.
