if white was a threat with his arm, I'd be happy having him as our 3rd QB but I feel Grossman is the better overall choice hot a #3 QB.

Orakpo is a nice player but until he learns some counter moves, he'll be secod fiddle to Kerrigan who is the better all round player. That said, Orakpo seemed to get held more than any redskins player I can ever remember seeing. He has elite athleticism just needs refined. How much longer do we wait?
Good thing.

Ras-I Dowling was released by the Pats. Any interest in kicking the tires?

I liked what I saw from both Thompson and Jamison. Thompson has nice speed and looked good on his pr td. That said, he's probably practice squad material unless he makes the squad as a returner. Jamison runs a bit like Morris. A lot of effort and doesn't seem to go down on the first hit.

Rambo has improved, a great sign. Amerson made a nice pick on a bad throw. Far too often we didn't get those.

Thompson makes it as a returner and 4th RB. Williams has looked decent but hurt his shoulder Friday so that may cost him. The battle will be between Jamison and Royster. Since they will keep Thompson it makes more sense (IMO) that they go with Royster as the 3rd RB ahead of Thompson. Otherwise they have to roll with two rookies as 3rd and 4t RB's respectively and I don't see that happening.

Any "names" you think are going?

Jamison possible practice squad guy? I really like his skill set for this offense.

I thought they might cut Josh Wilson. Not necessarily a big name but he's been a starter in the league for several years. But after Crawford and Thomas went down with season ending injuries I don't think they keep Wilson.

The other one I thought they may be fed up with due to not being healthy is Brandon Merriweather and now that he played some on Thursday they can release him without coming to a settlement but it would be tough to part with their most experienced safety.

Good point terpfan. He and a couple of the wideouts are prime candidates for that PS.

Royster made it. So did White. They kept 4 QB's.   Could they be seeking to trade White? Jawan Jamison was cut as well. If he clears waivers he should be headed for the PS.

I'm not a PSU fan (disclaimer) but I thought Royster was a nice contributor last year for the 'skins.

He has skill but his pass protection was dreadful and contributed to his lack of snaps. I hope he improves in that department.

I can't imagine a pass protection package with RGIII in the game.   Kind of like, how do you pass block for Roethlisberger?    After the initial contact, it's a fire drill.

They still have assignments and Royster routinely missed the assignments or whiffed on blocks. Also, the reason some plays become fire drills is because blocking assignments are missed or downfield coverage is solid.

I bow to your expertise.   I don't watch the 'skins that much but when I did, he seemed OK.

I'd be shocked if they cut Meriwether. He's easily the best safety on the team. For most teams he might be replaced easily but for us? Not so much. Now if Thomas hadn't went down?

No one of note got cut. Of course when Jackson and Jenkins return from suspension there will be two additional cuts but those will almost surely be defensive players. I am still wondering what they are thinking by keeping White. Are they unsure about Cousins health? Are they trying to trade him and see if they can pick up an extra draft choice? Or are they going to wait until late in the week to release him to prevent philly from picking him up so he can bring over information about our game plan and about Griffin's condition?

White will serve his role as the Vick clone for the scout team this week.

Could they be grooming him to be RGIII's backup, while planning to trade Cousins next off-season?

I hadn't thought of that GBurg. Given his mobility it makes some sense but he still has major issues with accuracy and decision making (at times he's too slow in making up his mind on where to go with his throws especially when he's throwing downfield). But as you pointed out, maybe they fell they can groom him into a better player and a capable backup. If they feel that way then I see no reason for not shopping Cousins now to see if they get the right offer since Grossman can still "serve"  :spaz: as the second string QB. For the record, I'm not in favor of trading Cousins for at least one more season.

I want to see rg3 get through a season with no major injuries before trading cousins.  I think white is great as a third stringer since they are supposed to be projects,  if rg3 and cousins are both healthy when players come off suspension,  I think Rex may be the odd man out

This is my main concern. I was never a fan of Cousins when I watched him play at MSU but I really like what I have seen since the Redskins drafted him. I think he can develop into a good one so I'm a bit reluctant to part with him and I'm definitely against trading him for at least one more season if not two.

Very good point.

I'm pretty sure Rex Grossman has dirty pictures of Mike and Kyle Shanahan.

Really hope that we don't need another Olineman. 4 QBs, 4TEs

Probably pictures of him WITH Kyle.
