When I wrote that comment, you came to mind as someone who would respond.

I think the fine is steep but fair. Coaches have to "know the deal". In the case of draft picks, I think those should be taken away in instances of systemic problems ... New Orleans as an example.

I don't disagree. this should come out of the Tomlin's hide but not the team. It was the equivalent of a dumb play, like taking your helmet off or swiping back at a guy. If you could show that Tomlin encouraged guys to crowd the field to be a distraction on plays down the side line, or had his cheerleaders flash opposing receivers to take their eyes off passes, then you punish the team (and possibly buy binoculars).

The door is open for both Shanahans to go to Houston. They have talent on the team. It would be nice if the Redskins could scam them into giving up a draft pick for the "right" to take them from Washington. It is believed McNair wants a veteran coach. Of course then we can be assured of being fleeced by Shanahan when we trade Cousins to the Texans.

he was tugged the whole way down the field. So he might not have been tugged in the end zone. no way it isn't interference, only question is where to place the ball. So we get the ball at the 5 instead of the 1

Pats have been absolutely reamed by calls all this year. Literally lost 2 games on final play calls (Jets and Carolina). I've never b!tched about calls until the past few weeks. In the Houston game, the refs blew interference on a punt reception too. Don't get me wrong - the ref stunk in this game too, and blew calls earlier. Heck, folks outside NE have been talking about it more than the Boston papers.

Sad thing is, the biggest common thread between this call and the Carolina call (and the call in Houston) is where was the game played.
