Would you have preferred Morris Garage-B ?

It could have been an MGBGT.... ;)

Thanks, PWC...and the same to you & yours...

Are you going to Scottsdale? We are having a 10th year reunion for most of the guys who went originally in 2014. I have been the most consistent attendee.

One hasn't lived until they've driven a Vauxhall Belmont, basically a kamikaze Chevy Vega

Would you have preferred Morris Garage-B ?

No...we've a grand-daughter due out around then...

It's hard to believe it was 6 years ago already that we were out there together. Have fun...as I know you will...

Two weddings, 1.75 grandkids. It's been a few years.  :hysterical:
Missed a bunch of y'all myself Gburgh, and it would be great to see a big turnout at the M&G next season.  Weather really put a damper on it this year...

Been lurkin' here off and on for the past 2 years...will likely chime in now and again when it seems appropriate.

Hope you and your clan are well...

My eldest and I were delayed on US Airways for over 3 hours on a Sunday flight from Charlotte to Las Vegas maybe 15-20 years ago.  They had to call-in a qualified tech from home to replace a worn "cushion" between the wing and the back edge of the flap.  It was nothing but a strip of duct tape that he removed and replaced...in no more than 10 minutes time.

I repaired a broken bike frame with duct tape while on a long trip through nowhere.  It held up, even with 50+ pounds of gear in panniers.

After the success of our President's Day 2023 trip to Baltimore, my wife demanded we take another trip to somewhere within 3 hours of Arlington for MLK Weekend 2024 with our 5 year old. We picked Philadelphia.

To save money, we stayed not in Philadelphia but in Chester County. This was actually a stroke of genius because we had access to both Philadelphia and Wilmington and could visit either city as we pleased, or even both in one day. On Saturday we did a museum in Philadelphia in the morning, had a genuine Philly cheesesteak (with whiz) for lunch, and got to Wilmington in plenty of time to do duckpin bowling.

We've visited both the Philadelphia Children's Museum (now seemingly world famous after rebranding as the "Please Touch Museum" - every parent we know from the DC area has taken their kids there) and the Delaware Children's Museum in Wilmington. The Philly museum is objectively better but I honestly feel we got better value per dollar at the Delaware one. There are more wall decals of Bryce Harper at the Delaware museum (1) than at the Philly one - Bryce's picture for whatever reason adorns the speed pitch machine there.

Tomorrow we drive back to Arlington, ideally before the snow. We'll do the Delaware Museum of Nature and History on the way home.

I've kind of been interested in the Brandywine battlefield. there's been some additional land acquisition efforts by the American Battlefield Trust since they broadened their mission beyond just the Civil War, but I don't think there's anything ongoing. I love the story of how a British rifleman had a clear shot at an officer who was likely Washington but declined to take it because, in that era, it was thought that senior officers were needed to keep the ruffian troops under control. Didn't stop the yankees from picking off the occasional general in the same conflict. I suppose we returned the favor by helping out the Brits a few times last century.

Try the Franklin Institute in a couple of years Count. And get a hoagie instead of a cheesesteak. Lee’s Hoagies has various locations and used to be a good option. Oil.  No vinegar. No Mayo.

if a place offers mayo on a sub / hoagie, do all people who have standards do a 180 and leave immediately?

I don’t think nowadays.  They want to make money.

I drove right by the Brandywine Battlefield today on my way back to Arlington. It is closed for the winter right now.

I was thinking of a Spitfire GT6, friend has a couple of them.  Though I looked it up after posting and a handful of MGB GT's got 6 cylinders, and even a few 8 cylinders though they had a poor reputation.

Always thought the 1963 era MGB was one of the coolest looking cars ever.
