I'm under the impression that if the Nationals by some amazing chance won the World Series and went 177-0, assclown would say that because the Nationals got lucky and did so well this year, they will be become lazy and never win anything for the rest of time.

I suspect when we win the world series I will be too busy celebrating to care about who is whining.

I'd hope people would be too busy to whine at that moment in time.

On my way to work this morning along Lee Highway in Fairfax, I saw a car with the license plate (I swear I'm not making this up) PF FLYER.  I take that as a sign we will sign him.  Let's do it!

What do you mean?

The baseball bat makes me cross-eyed. Just weird positioning when the player is standing so far away.

Ahhhh, I can see what you mean. Personally I like those kinds of shots, but I definitely can see how it can be hard on the eyes for some people.

Dexter Fowler had the 4th worst UZR in all of MLB over the last few seasons.

Fowler was still worth 2.9 WAR in 125 games.

http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=4062&position=OF

Mike Morse, by comparison, was worth 3.4 WAR in 146 games.

Fowler is young, cost controlled, and plays a position we desperately need.  He's not a bad return for someone who is not as young, will be very expensive soon, and plays the same position as Prince/LaRoche and Bryce Harper.

The Braves turned down a trade of Tim Wheeler and Seth Smith for Martin Prado early in the off-season. I wonder if Wheeler would be in play for Morse, because that could be a long term solution at CF even though we might have to deal with a year of a platoon of Cameron and Bernadina.

Wheeler strikes out a lot and can't hit lefties so some scouts think he'll be a platoon guy

Wheeler and Seth Smith are not really enough for Morse, in my opinion.

Wheeler looks interesting but he's not better than our own CF prospects by enough of a margin to give up Morse.  There are poor fielding, good hitting corner outfielders still available in free agency so Seth Smith doesn't add a ton of value in that trade.

Prado would be a great fit here if we were to flip one of our middle infielders for a CF.  Maybe there is a three way trade we could work out with the Braves and O's somehow where we end up with Prado and Jones?

It was probably just about what Prince said back in December. I wouldn't be too worried.

No chatter for a few days.  I'm really starting to believe the market on Fielder is very very dry and the Nats are the only team that have put out a serious bid.  I don't think he goes to the M's and I think Boras is honestly waiting, and wasting his time, on Texas.  My belief is that Fielder wants to play here, the offer on the table isn't to Boras's liking, and this may shake out like Holliday and he comes here for less time and money than originally wanted.  Can't Darvish just sign already so the last hurdle is out of the way?

Yep, he's waiting for Texas. This may be one of the few (only) times that Boras has miscalculated. And maybe it will work to the Nats advantage.
