How hilarious would it be if no one signs Fielder and he remains a free agent throughout the season.

I like Cecil Fielder's pathetic attempts at being a media whore.

a video has leaked of the negotiations between Boras and Ted Lerner.

!

I know this is a fast moving thread, but it wouldn't move quite so fast if there wasn't so much repeating of news previously posted.

I think this signing is much different from El Douchebag and Big Donkey.  Even though Adam didn't want to come here, he didn't want to leave so that says something, but back on point I honestly believe that Fielder WANTS to play here.  I think he likes the guys on the team, how young the core is, and it probably gives him a relatively great chance to win and get paid.  I think he would consider the Rangers because they have young pieces, are positioned to go back to the WS again and also have a good team gel that he could mix into right away.  Seattle may want him the most but they don't have the money to do it and he probably doesn't want to go somewhere that is missing many pieces and won't contend right away.  Someone stated it earlier, if Werth opened the door to free agents wanting to come here, Prince would knock it down and I think he is poised to come to a franchise right on the cusp, with all the right ingredients to win, and keep trying to get a WS ring each year with young, talented guys.

This is why I hope that our team will be serious about paying to keep guys like RZ; I really do think we're in a position to contend for the next 5-6 years if we keep the train on the right track. Success is close, and it's not fleeting success; it's long-term sustained quality play.

By the way, who's El Douchebag supposed to be?

Teixeira.

Bingo!  And yes the M's are still owned by the old president of Nintendo.  I heard they operated at a loss last year which is why i don't see a big deal going their way.

If Prince comes to DC, Cecil should just wear a Phillies shirt - the stadium staff will welcome him with open arms :lmao:

Win!

I still call him El Douchebag, douchenozzle, The Douchencopter, King Kamehameha Douche.  Really anything douche related.

My friends and I, including a Braves and Yankees fan, sit there and try and keep a straight face when he argues a call.  You know he is just jumping up and down screaming "You're a douche" just like that episode of South Park with John Edward.

It sucks to see on MLBTR that the Mariners are the team willing to spend the most and are most interested in Fielder. I mean its all hearsay crap probably but it'd still be lame as hell and rather upsetting to see us used again.

They've drafted quite a few players with injuries. Granted it might not be a problem, but that's still a big gamble. coughRedskinsKellyThomascough.
