Have the Nats even went to arbitration yet with MASN?

If he gets traded while we gave role player in the outfield with one of the richest contracts ever, Ownership needs to rethink things

Ownership should have stuck to building malls and eating dicks.

From an hour ago- still the standard revenue is expected to increase

I'm fairly certain that buying the Nats has not hindered them in either of those pursuits.

Despite nothing being announced it is certainly likely that the Lerner family knows the starting bid from Angelos, so they can proceed with their 2012 budget knowing that the MASN money will increase by X amount with the expectation that it will rise even further.

Hopefully they're taking into account the loss of revenue sharing in the near distant future.

Am I the only one who is adamantly against trading Zim regardless of the circumstances?  How do you give Werth and Fielder (possibly) mega deals and then send Zim out of town when he wants one when he is a better player than both of them and has played his ass off through all of the bad years with this team?  Now we are on the precipice of contending and we are talking about shipping him out?  That's a discussion that I think should be taken off the table entirely.  You don't want that to be your reputation for how you treat your own around the sport.

My main concern with the Zimmm situation is what to do with the giant mural behind the scoreboard once he is no longer with the team.   Do we leave his picture up there indefinitely as a representative of a great moment for the team as opposed to a tribute to a single player?  Or do we pick a new face of the franchise?

Revenue sharing was less than 10 million a year (mind fact) any decent bump in tv contract would more than cover whatever Nats stood to lose from meager revenue sharing.

Hopefully they see the ending of revenue sharing as the impetuous to field a competitive team in order to draw in fans and maintain their profit margins as opposed to a reason to cut payroll based on the loss of guaranteed revenue.  It could go either way with these guys.

I *think* MDS's continued mentioning of revenue sharing is meant to be sarcastic.  I'm not entirely sure.

Good point, how much money will each team continue to receive from MLB for the national TV deal and merchandise sales?  ~$50-60 million a year?

People are just discussing various scenarios.  Why not head over to the related thread and familiarize yourself with the discussion (or just read the last few pages of this one).

It's gotta suck to be Adam LaRoche right now. I hope he's got thick skin, especially if we don't get Fielder and need to rely on him in 2012.
