That article also overlooks the fact that there are plenty of parking lots not controlled by the Nationals that still allow tailgating, even grilling.

Shhhh.......

Just put some tickets for sale on StubHub for the the first time.  Will see how it goes.  Any WNFF tips on buying and selling?

I have a partial season plan for 2 seats, but I want 4 tickets to some games.  It seems like buying and selling on StubHub is easier than trying to deal with Nats on moving tickets around...

Best tip is to check the site obsessively, good deals can be found but they are purchased quickly.

Grilling is allowed at the gravel lot but not at the Yards, I'm not sure about any of the smaller lots.  None of them come close to the ambiance of lot 8 or even the "tailgate lot" at FedEx. You really need a large/dense crowd for proper tailgating.

And unfortunately, those days are long gone, because all of the surface parking around Nats Park will someday turn into underground garage parking. I miss tailgating in Lot 8. We'd get there really early before Saturday evening games and park along the river. Good times.

Has anyone here ever gotten a response when e-mailing the Nationals? I sent them a message about an incident at the ballpark last week, and I have yet to get even an automated response. I get the impression that they really don't want to be bothered about customer service complaints or other problems that need to be addressed.

I have emailed them several times, and have gotten a reply about half of those times after a somewhat lenghty delay...

Very little info available about the Nats fan who was killed leaving a game (via Justin's) a couple months ago.  I'd sure like to know the circumstances.

I'm not entirely sure why this would be in the Nationals Park Questions.  Surely he was fine and with friends when he left the stadium.

He went from the ballpark to a bar that markets itself as a place to go before and after Nats games, then was heading to the Metro stop a half block away from the ballpark when he disappeared.  Considering the huge volume of Nats fans who use that Metro stop and the rest of us who walk further than that to get to our cars it is certainly of interest whether there is a mugger/killer at large in the immediate ballpark area.

No signs of foul play, according to the article. Pending further investigation.

So you're saying Mark Lerner killed him.

A blog has a series of posts about the death of Tyler William Reed here:
http://www.fairfaxunderground.com/forum/read/2/1535055.html

May 13, 2014 07:23AM
"Tyler William Reed had been missing since May 5, according to reports... Reed had attended a Washington Nationals game on May 5 and visited Justin's Cafe [1025 First St SE, Washington, DC , near the Navy Yard Metro station and two blocks north of the stadium,] during a rain delay, according to Fairfax County Police. He was last seen leaving the restaurant [at approximately 11 PM wearing a bright orange backpack; he's 5’10’’, 160 lbs].... Officer Araz Alali, a D.C. police spokesman, identified the [body of a man pulled from the Anacostia River] as Tyler William Reed. He said the cause of death is pending an autopsy. Reed’s family and friends had sought help in their search with a campaign on Facebook... Reed was a server at Alexandria’s Evening Star Café and had recently returned to George Mason to finish his degree, said his mother Cheri Reed... "

July 18, 2014 08:08PM
"Toxicology/autopsy reports did not reveal anything conclusive, and this info is only available to the family. Those two people were two of I think four people to have been with Tyler on the evening of May 5th..."

"I think the public might benefit from these missing facts from the story:
1.) Tyler was out with his manager, Morgan F.[Frankena] and co-worker, William K.[Kettler] from the Evening Star, the night he went missing. These were the last people who saw them. The two have not been cooperative or willing to provide info.
2.) At one point at Justins w/ his friends, he left for thirty minutes and when he returned mentioned meeting a stranger in the bathroom and then supposedly left immediately.

So why... did his friends/co-workers let him leave? Why did they let him drunkenly walk out, into the rain, and didn't offer him a ride? Why have they both been avoiding speaking with police? Why did William K. refuse to join in the campaign to find the missing Tyler Reed?..."

"its true the coworkers were not cooperative. one of their friends who was with them was helping the police but not the coworkers. idgaf if they do drugs, if they know something they need to speak up. tyler wasn't stupid he wouldn't just walk off with strangers, so somebody knows something... suicide is totally off the table, tyler loved life.... personally i am very suspicious of william and morgan they left out lots of details and didn't help the family."

Yes-my info comes from reliable sources, I'm a close friend. Tyler wasn't involved in at "gay hookup" not was his death suicide... June 12, 2014 06:19PM No, he was not gay, Tyler was straight.

So he was walking from Justin's to the Metro, got robbed and was thrown in the river? Did this mugger kill him in the half block between the bar and the subway and drag him the four blocks down to the water? Or was he led at gunpoint past the ballpark as people were trickling out as the rain delay was ending? Not a chance. Dude went down to the river willingly, figure out why and you'll narrow your suspect list down considerably.

Concerned friend () Date: June 03, 2014 06:21PM
...When he was found his backpack was missing. So that's still out there somewhere. Or at the bottom of the Anacostia.

1. They refused to speak with police, they also refused to speak with his family or give them their thoughts on how he ended up the way he did.
2. Morgan [Frankena], a manager at the restaurant Tyler worked at, quit shortly after this happened.
3. [William] Kettler is an alcoholic and Morgan is a druggie.
4. Their stories have conflicted numerous times and changed, numerous times.
5. Morgan said days after Tyler was reported missing "well he had issues" on the topic of his disappearance.

Good job N2P.

It would appear on the face of it like this was likely not a random thuggery going on here.

Tyler Reed also worked as a server 4 blocks away from Nationals Park, at Bluejacket Brewery, 300 Tingey St, SE, Washington, DC. That Restaurant and the Evening Star in Del Ray, Alexandria both closed for his memorial service.

Reed played guitar and performed in public at times.
 :pimp:
It sounds like a murder to me, maybe drug related, based on the reluctance of witnesses to cooperate. There's a chain link fence at the Anacostia River where his body was found floating.

the lot across from the fire house on half/M street street NW of the park was only $20 today, we got there around 5:50 PM for a 7:05 start and it was pretty empty.
