Outstanding Teddy.   Thanks     I hardly eat at the park but when the missus goes, this'll come in handy.

There is now a Hard Times Cafe stand on the 300 level, around section 312 if I remember correctly.

Has anyone found the poutine?  I've looked all over, except in the Norfolk Southern club, but haven't seen it even though they highlighted it to the media in the pre-season rollout.

Bluejacket looked good, but was packed. No way I'm waiting in line for an hour just to go to a bar

Bluejacket is always packed, even when there's no baseball game.

They should at least remove chairs from the bar and make it standing room only for a few pre-game hours.

They sold smokes right at the stadium  I'm guessing you could probably actually smoke in the stadium as well, ah the good ol' days

A few thousand people smoking cigars in the summer in old RFK.... could you even see the ball field?

A few thousand? They were lucky to draw 15K, I doubt they ever had more than a handful.

Apparently section 136 has some amazing Parm Sandwich or something.

It is great, and also pretty huge. I had a hard time finishing one.

I had the crab grilled cheese last Friday. Had two, actually, since I hadn't had breakfast but I'd already had two beers. It was very good, one of the tastiest items I've had at the ballpark. $12.00 each feels kind of steep, however. The bigger issue was the long line. I got on line at 11:40 and finally got my two sandwiches at 12:20 (still 45 minutes before game time). Of course the line was longer because it was opening day and because it was a Friday during Lent, but still, 40 minutes is an insanely long time to wait on line at a concession stand under any circumstances. I think if I visit that particular stand again it will have to be on a day I'm there particularly early, such as a bobblehead game, because I'm not willing to miss a third of the game while waiting at a concession stand.

I had one at last night's game, it was in fact spectacular. My only critique would be for $12 I wish they'd through a few chips in there or something, but the sandwich itself was delicious.

EDIT: To add, it only took me about 5-10 minutes to grab one last night, went in the middle of the third I think and didn't miss much at all.

Beer for breakfast: a fine old East European tradition.

When I was waiting for a flight in Warsaw airport at about 06.00 there were people popping open bottles of Zywiec lager...and walk about Tomislava trg in Zagreb anytime of day and you'll see locals tucking into their half-litre bottles of Ozujsko (hence my occasional references to 'Croatian breakfast' or 'Croatian dinner').

Growing up in a steel town in Western PA exposed me to a lot of great "traditions".    Plenty of Croat, Serb, Pole, Slovenian, Slovak, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Irish, Finn, German, English, Scot, etc. workers who brought their lifestyles with them   ....   doesn't even include the stuff the multi-generational Americans mixed in the pot.     Anyway, I often joke that I could curse in 7 languages but not converse in any lanuguage other than English (to any degree).    Shift work in the mill exposed me to the "Croation breakfast" you mention.     Get off 11 to 7 around 6 AM (when relieved by the 7 to 3 shift), walk out the gate to the bar (many located within a block or two), have a few, go home, get the clubs and go golfing.    Since the bars were open, there were many guys having breakfast before actually starting their days.    :)

At the risk of dating myself, I remember when people could--and most did--smoke in their seats at the Cap Centre.  I recall one Caps/Sabres game where I was in a corporate box (friend's mom's employer) way up in the rafters and could barely see the ice through the thick fog of cigarette smoke.

There was a similar effect during Prince's 'Purple Rain' tour (I think I went to four consecutive shows at the Cap Centre), but the smoke was of an entirely different nature.  Blew my young mind.

I remember all the smoke (both types) as well.    Contributed to the fog on many occasions.
