Mike Rizzo just said the org wouldn't make a decision about tonight's game until 7:05 pm.  What a way to freak your fans.

Nationals Journal reports the tarp is off.

It's not raining here in Kingstowne.

This weather would be perfect for a soccer game.  There was a DC United game against a Honduran club 5 or so years ago where it was pouring rain and 35F...awesome  :P

Not a fan of the #nats waiting until 705 to decide on game. Look at radar, figure it out. Don't have fans make unnecessary trip.
Totally asinine. Why do the Nats always freak crap like this up so badly?

No call on weather yet?

Capital Weather Gang's NatCast remains unchanged from earlier today: 'Frequent showers and storms around the metro area make a challenging effort for the game tonight. The game might get in with the heaviest precipitation west of the city, but it is more likely to see some rain delays or even ostponement' with 90% chance of rain (now what an 'ostponement' is I haven't the first idea though - it's in the original: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang).

That's a lot of righty bats to face Mr. Lilly-putian.

Always liked Lilly, but his ERA / FIP numbers are Livoesque this year.

If it's a 161-game schedule then Jordan has enough innings to qualify for the pitching title.

Ohh.

Good call!

Now we know the real reason the Nats want to get the game in... JZ must have incentives tied to ERA in his contract.

Davey said Strasburg will definitely be on a pitch count of around 60...He's hoping that means he'll get 4 innings in. IF the weather allows

60 pitches really?

I'm def out. I can't afford to get sick right now.

Yeah, the threat of pneumonia is going to keep me away tonight and tomorrow.  Damn rain!

I always thought illnesses were caused by bacteria, or viruses, but rain...that's a new one.

I got caught in the rain walking home after yesterday's game...it was actually quite pleasant.

I always thought illnesses were caused by bacteria, or viruses, but rain...that's a new one.

This kind of weather wears down my immune system making me more susceptible to catching shiznit.  That work for you Tommy T?

Davey says Strasburg won't pitch if chance of delay. Would start Game 1 of DH tomorrow afternoon. Peacock would start tonight if needed.

If there's rain, Davey Johnson might scratch Strasburg -- doesn't want him to pitch on a wet mound, or throw an inning and be delayed.

Yet he is fine with Peacock pitching on a wet mound or throwing an inning here or there and be delayed?

If you can't see the difference then you're a bigger dope than originally believed.

Walked the dog just now, and lost all desire to go to a game today. It's foul out there.

Comak says split DH tomorrow if there's no game tonight, I guess 1:30 / 7:00 start.

Ding, ding, ding... We have a winner.

Also, if you have breathing issues, it can be difficult expelling the added moisture from the lungs leading to pneumonia. It is especially difficult for people confined to wheelchairs etc...

Why is Rizzo waiting to 7?!! Greed?

It is going to pour all night. This is the most obvious rainout I've ever seen yet the Nats want everyone to come buy concessions before they cancel the game
