Sorry, that should have been coached. He had said he had coached in the minors. In listing the combination of perspectives - on the field, from the field, from the booth - was simply pointing out that he had experience coaching, but mistakenly referred to his coaching experience as managing. He didn't specify what the role was, but I confused coach with manage in the list of actual skills.
What's good is that oftern you get a guy in the booth who is an ex player who never coached in the pro ranks, or a manager who never played successfully, so it is nice to have someone with both perspectives. More importantly, a lot of those guys don't really have any formal broadcast training or skills, and in F.P.'s case, he actually majored in broadcast journalism in college and has had his own radio show.
