and he makes the best scorebook of all time.  OF ALL TIME!
Right on. I am a huge fan of the Carpenter scorebook. I am working on my second big book since I first discovered it. (The "TV" size is good for about 2+ seasons of the number of games I see live each year.

Alright guys, we need to either start a Flickr account for scorebooks or post some here.  March 31st can't come soon enough for me!

Oh, I have no idea how good it actually is.  I have no idea how to score games, I'm like FP

I will always respect dibble for calling out that babbling bimbo who hovered in iPhone zombieland behind the plate for an entire game.

F.P. is easy to listen to but I still miss Dibbs.

Dibble made the 14-3 blowouts fun to watch.

Dibble will always be aces to me for his blunt review of the team during late summer 2009.  I sometimes wonder how many times they had to hit the dump button.

I heard him for the first time the other day and I agree with you.   I'm certainly gonna listen/watch all summer to give him a chance but I always like a blunt smartass.   Dibs was all that.

I noticed Carpenter threw in a 'jammage' in one of the recent broadcasts - Dibble is lives on in Carp's broadcasting.  Maybe he'll show up tatted up on the next broadcast.
I thought it was Wimpy who used jammage first?

Dibble was a bombastic know-nothing. The extent of his knowledge about the game was pitching. And the extent of his knowledge about pitching was "challenge the guy and throw strikes."

Dibble was a dumbass as a player and bigger dumbass as an announcer. No, I won't miss him.

FP is a breath of fresh air. He is extremely knowledgeable and he will get more comfortable and show personality as the season goes along.

What about a long-shot effort to get FP for a board chat?

Somebody get his contact info, approach him and see if he's interested.   I'd be happy to take over the setup and scheduling once the contact is made.

I'd also love to have Dave Jageler come here.  Dave seems to be universally respected among his listeners, think it would be great to pick his brain a bit.

Dave's wife is on the Twitter, she seems very sweet.

FP is too. Can one of the twitterers contact him?

I was grateful for having both Knight and Dibble around in 2009, because they were willing to be honest about their opinions of the team's performance. That helped keep some of us fans sane. I will always have a soft spot for Dibbs because of that, and I think he added some real value.  But I have high hopes for FP. Every time I hear him on XM, it makes me glad he's our guy.

thank you.

the only reason people liked Dibble is because he grunted and growled and ranted whenever the Nats lost.

he didn't bring anything really meaningful to the broadcast besides "grrr grrrrrr nats suck grrrr rawr"

I am sure FP can do that too, if you like. but he just might bring something else valuable to the broadcast too.

"One thing about my career, and you won't hear me talk about my career very often, is I got hit by a lot of pitches.  Not that I was any good, I was just dumb enough to stand up there and let it hit me."

:lmao: watching the game on my ps3.

Well now having listened to the new guy a full game ... he bores me to tears and brings nothing - no insight, just tired cliches.   I'll keep listening (do I have any choice?) and maybe I'll feel differently later in the season.

Right now he's not bad but unless he changes his delivery style it's going to be hard to listen to 81 games with him.  Way too quiet for me.  I just hope he's not Don Sutton 2.0.

This was my impression as well.  I found myself mentally tuning him out within the first few minutes.
