Tampa signs Logan Kensing.  They should give us Crawford as compensation. :-)

I thought Kensing was in Syracuse?  I'm glad the sick Kensing experiment has finally ended, though!

I laughed when I saw that my friend in my yahoo league picked him up based off his hot start.

Elijah Dukes is close to signing with Tobasco Olmecas of the Mexican League

This is an early rumor, and we’re still waiting for confirmation, but former Washington National’s outfielder, Elijah Dukes, is close to signing with Tobasco Olmecas of the Mexican League (Triple-A).

Dukes was released by the Nationals on March 17.

Dukes was expected to be the Nationals’ starting right fielder, but his poor Spring offense sealed his fate. He was 3 for 20 (.143) with five strikeouts. Justin Maxwell and Roger Bernadina will compete for the starting right field job.

Dukes, 25, hit .250 with 8 home runs and 58 RBIs in 107 games with the Nationals in 2009.

Official MiLB site for the Olmecas de Tabasco.
http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/clubs/ip_index.jsp?sid=milb&cid=t442

The site they link to described as the official team site offers several 'exciting products. If the rumor below is true, I'm afraid Dukes is going to meet his end in the alley behind a tequileria.

Hell, he's so down on his luck he might need to move into AZ's place.

Big Jon Rauch is making the Twinkies forget all about Joe Nathan.  5 appearances, 5 saves, era 1.80, WHIP 1.23.

The Marlins are the only ones who lost on that deal. They got an underperforming, overhyped Bowden era infield prospect and an overrated pitcher who retired. And Bonifacio.

On that trade:

"Money does matter, certainly in these transactions, but you want to get something back, too," Marlins president of baseball operations Larry Beinfest said. "We'll talk in a few years and see how this trade went."

Gotta love Austin Kearn's line this year:

.286
4/14
0 R
0 RBI
0 HR

Nothing like an OF who hits like Anderson Hernandez.

A left fielder, he joins a crowded outfield in Washington that includes Lastings Milledge, Elijah Dukes and Austin Kearns. There had been speculation Willingham might be asked to shift to first base, but Bowden was clear: "We acquired him as a corner outfielder, not a first baseman."

Willingham, Pudge, and Clippard are the all star candidates so far. Weird.

You have to wonder if Manny does stuff like that just to see who's paying attention. :-)

He's got a decent top three (Cabrera, Sizemore, Choo) out there, but Kearns ought to be batting 8th or 9th.
