Why not?  Those who said he had "lost" his power were not considering that his wrist may be continuing to strenthen, especially with another offseason to work on it.  I would not be a bit surprised to see Nick knock in 20+ if he gets more than 450 PA's this year.

just added him to my fantasy team, dropping nate mcclouth.

how long before Bowden is the GM and they sign Dukes?  I mean seriously, grabbing the cast-offs of a 100 loss team?

BTW, I caught Acta the other day on MLB on XM.  He was asked about the differences between CLE and WAS and noted "pitching and defense".

He would be a nice addition to the Nats coaching staff at some level the organization.

Team nutritionist?

He can supply the team with endless amounts of liquor so that they too can be like Dmitri.

It worked wonders for Elijah Dukes.

After the team hires Dmitri, they can hire Dukes as their special Assistant on Condom Distribution.

no, they need to get whoever ran the Olympic distribution program, assuming he's not currently Tiger Woods' personal assistant.

7th inning today.  He walked everyone in sight giving us the go ahead runs that won it.

Ok, gotcha.  I was in a sports bar in Rockville watching the Terps make a heroic comeback, only to have Michigan State snatch it away with less than a second left.

Maybe I should wear my Klej jersey, if he's going to keep helping the Nats out.

AP reports, you decide:

Quote
Kearns homers twice as Indians rout Dodgers 12-5
March 21, 2010
GLENDALE, Ariz.—Austin Kearns hit his first two home runs of the spring and drove in five runs as the Cleveland Indians rolled to a 12-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

Kearns, who has a chance at the Indians' starting left field job, went deep against Dodgers starter Eric Stults and again against reliever Aaron Miller. In 25 at-bats before Sunday, he had just two extra-base hits and had not driven in a run.

"He's a right-handed bat with a track record and some power," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "He can play the three outfields. His best position is right field but he can play center and occasionally left and he's taking ground balls at first base."

Non-former-Nat Jamie Hoffmann, the top Rule 5 pick, got returned by the Yankees to the Dodgers. This officially means that we acquired Brian Bruney for absolutely nothing.

$50,000. Unless the Yankees have to give us the $25,000 deposit.
