MacDougal looking like MacDougal. Can people stop pretending he's any good?

I think that the offense has a ceiling of being average like last season. Isn't anyone concerned that Dunn, Zimmerman, and Morgan put up numbers off of their career norms? Does it worry you that last year was the first time that Ian Desmond didn't suck? We know that C, 2B, and RF will be mediocre at best. The rest of the lineup has to carry them.

It never worries me when a player under 30 has a career year, because you know sometimes young players breakout. Maybe last year was just the beginning of what Zimmerman can be, maybe Morgan just needed to get out of Pittsburgh and be given a shot to play everyday, maybe Dunn's commitment to putting the ball in play more often was actually serious, and maybe Desmond is finally showing the promise we have been hearing about since 2005 and only sucked because Bowden put him over his head in AA in 2006. There are two sides to every story and maybe two things go right and two things go bad. Or all four players return to career averages. I highly doubt all of them fall off a cliff into the void of doom.

He is such a nice guy and has a nickname. don't try and bring facts into the arguement.

Dunn is mr. consistent, other than his avg. being 15-20 points higher than normal I'm not worried about him. Zimmerman is only 25 and is coming into his prime, I expect him to build off last year not regress. Morgan, eh we will see. We are better at 2B than we have been in quite some time with kennedy, and C is probably a toss up but depends on whether Pudge can find his offense.

Not sure where you get the part about relying on the rest of the offense to carry them.

Klej bit the big one. I'll give R. Martin a pass as it's his first appearance. Good for English, again.

I don't think Rizzo ever really wanted MacDougal around. They threw him a bone. Now they can throw him back on trash heap.

I could see them having similar seasons, but wouldn't be surprised if AK has a better year.  I'm glad they picked him up.

Klej himself said he doesn't feel right. Minor league DL is fine with me.

Heh, I completely forgot we even signed him. Can't wait to see what that guy can do in the minors!

Hmm, new MLB "at bat" app that's supposed to be like the iPhone app.  Looks pretty nice.  Must be included with my MLB.tv sub, or it's $19.95 and includes audio.

So, now that we're underway, two things I notice.  First, the "Nationals Park" signage right behind the plate and no curly W in the outfield.  Wonder if that will return down the line.

Anyone else pissed at how over watered the infield is? It looks terrible. For some reason I guess the grounds crew wanted to make the infield a mud bog.

I blame all of the above on the fact that it's an exhibition game.  But I guess we'll find out Monday.

It's spring training for the ground crew too.  But if they do that over the course of the season, it will make the infield hard which might be the preference of the infielders.  Most ground crews cater to the team's preferences.

I see the Red Sox leeches are in full force at the park. Shame on the "Youk" reference. They're all leeches...even the team.

freak. They said Guzman, Desmond and Kennedy are each only going to get 400 at bats.

No one will get 200 or 600.

So freaking lame.

I hate this team sometimes.

Haha.

I think he's saying that to keep everyone happy, but it wouldn't surprise me if he went with whoever plays the best.
