Desmond with a RBI double to put the good guys ahead 5-2.

Desmond = stud ... also Guzman has been raking the ball since he got the news!  Three more hits today (I believe a homer away from cycle).

Man I can't wait for opening day! Nice outing by Lannan too, faced a solid line up.

That's two straight times we've done well vs. Wainwright.  That's gotta make Cardinals fans feel good.

I didn't notice that Desmond had another error.

Up to 7 now.

Lucky for him they already called the SS closed, huh?

I bet we don't hear about any of Desmond's regular season Errors from ASSCLOWN.  Meanwhile, each of Dunn's (and several plays that aren't official errors) will be judged the end of days by the very same ASSCLOWN.

He's got to be better. Every ball hit to SS is going to be cringe-worthy.

The bat looks great. 3 hits today but the D has to improve.

Again most of his errors have been of the throwing variety.  Remember at one point last year (I believe it was right out of All-Star break), Zim made a few throwing errors and people on here were saying he should move to short and that he would never correct his throwing form!

Practice makes perfect.  I'm sure the coaches and even his neighbor Zim are helping Dessie along the way.  Sure, it makes you worry a bit, but I think he can improve.

Oh throwing errors....

So when should we expect the "Can anyone please help Ian Desmond?" thread? ;)

Think this will be the opening day batting order? I guess I could live with Willie batting second. I can't live with it if it also means Taveras will hit second when he plays.

I'd rather see this as our opening day batting order

Morgan
Desmond
Zimmerman
Dunn
Willingham
Kennedy
Rodriguez
Harris
Lannan

Most baseball managers will not start a rookie at the top of the lineup, no matter how well they are hitting in ST.  Riggs will start Desmond in the bottom half opening day and will force him to work his way up.

Gary Matthews with a lol play in CF, two more runs score ... Nats lead 5-3.  Willingham has 4 RBIs.

Did you see that Marquis has 9 groundball outs to  no flyball outs. Thats why he will pitch well for the Nats. Lots of double play balls to get him out of jams!

I'm just hoping our defense holds up.

MICHAEL BURGESS BABY!!!

Desmond walked, then stole second ... Burgess brought him home with a line drive double down the right field line (he smoked that pitch).
