My guess?  Some of these MiLFAs will start the year in Syracuse and wait for a subsequent roster vacancy / injury before they move up.

My thoughts also. I don't think that more than two or three will make the OD and that is counting both position players and pitchers. Everyday Eddie ,Taveras (over Maxwell and Bernadina )and one other pitcher perhaps Batista. They are stocking "cuse with inventory for the inevitable injuries and DL time that our pitchers will have. There is no sense in rushing the kids because we ain't going anywhere this year. SS should be called up in September like Detwiler was and maybe Storen late in the summer.Those call ups should not be locks.Let them earn it and not be based upon where they were drafted.

He kept playing Pete Orr late into the year last year when Desmond deserved those at bats.

My thought is that Rizzo is waiting until MacDougal and Beimels price comes down. Look for something to happen a week before OD.I think that this could also be the scenario for a SP like Kyle Lohse several years ago and JB didn't attempt to sign him and he went to the "Cards"(?) after the season started. Turtle lobbied hard for us to sign him but JB just ignored him. He made up for it the next year and signed DCrab.

I guess I just don't see how all this spazzing over Villone's signing is of any use.  I see the news of his signing, think "Hmm, filler.  Hope he doesn't make the team" and move on.

Others seem intent on screaming the death of the franchise after every such signing and are absolutely convinced that they must make the rest of us see it the same way.  ASSCLOWN is right - I don't get it.

I think he is more of the fail safe, as you say, than a prime option to break camp with us.  If Eddie G falls on his face and they decide they want a second lefty, then a slot opens up.  If Burnett and Eddie G perform, Villone goes to 'cuse.  In either case, I'm saying it is likely that Ladson's call that all three are on the 25 man roster on Opening Day is likely to be incorrect.

Thank you turtle.The snake is at my buddies house for the winter it seems.We winterized it sometime in January and I was supposed to pick it up several weeks ago and believe it or not it snowed. It has never seen rain least of all snow , salt and sand.Maybe late  March as my brethern drivers are getting restless and we want to take the cars to the VI.

It's not the signing I have a problem with, personally.  I just don't like the thought of him pitching a lot.  That always seems to happen.
