Yeah, this is the most he's played ever and he is still just a teenager. Shut him down, rest him up, recharge the batteries, do AFL.

Sounds like a good plan

One more open spot on the 40 man roster.

Nice piece.  Shame so many people seem to have already made up their minds about him, and at such an early age as if he's a fully baked adult.

A note on Harper that ight be missed because I was talking about Arnesen. (Got tickets to Harrisburg before he was hurt...):

Nice chat with the team store clerk who added to the "legends of Bryce Harper". She said, "You watch him play the OF and it's pure athleticism as he tracks a ball. No fear of the wall...he just goes for ball. And he hit one over [this notable marker] and [that notable spot] way out into the field where we set of fire-works. I'm not sure anyone has ever hit one there".

harper was eligible to come off the DL yesterday, I think he needs to come off before the end of the Harrisburg season to play in the AFL.

So, where do they send minor leaguers when they need a rehab assignment before going back to the AA squad?

I dont know all the rules, but promoting/demoting guys at the minor league has no effect on anything. You can assign a AA guy to the GCL for rehab, but its nothing other than assigning him to that level.

But the minors have a 7 day DL, which Harper is on. So if you only miss a week, there really isn't much of a need for a rehab stint.

Brad Meyers pitched in Auburn before coming back to Syracuse.

Kilgore reports Harper ran in the OF before last night's Senators game and could be ready to play in the AA playoffs.

LAC'ers, do you want to start the thread now (for when Harper signs with the Yanks)?

so it's okay to draft and sign your picks, but then let them go?  i think we'd all be pissed if zimmerman(n), strasburg and harper all left.

You can't blame the Lerners if Harper is just playing out his contract so he can go to NY.
