One more thing... do you guys know any other stuff to do besides museums during the day in DC? We're staying at the Holiday Inn near the L'Enfant Plaza station, closer is better but we can take the metro I guess too.

That hotel is my favorite place to park, only 2 metro stops from the Ball Park and you don't have to change trains!
Not sure what you're looking for???
Georgetown if you want to just look at expensive shops and have nice resturants.
The National Zoo is great in good weather.
Eastern Market's not to far from the hotel either and can be good fun if you're looking for anything from fresh meats and veggies to jewelry and art.

I'll be there on Tuesday vs. the RSox.  Hey 2IPAs, I'll IM you my cell, maybe we can meet up.  I'll have to see, I have an online webinar that day.

Also for those interested.  I'm selling 2 tickets for the July 5th Game vs the Braves and the August 5th game.  Section 308, Row C.  $23 each!  Cheaper than walk up tix!

That's what museums are for ... having said that, consider riding one of the open top tour busses when you first hit town, gives you an idea of where things are and how far it is from one location to another, and may help you come up with ideas (Washington Circulator is a cheap option for this)
Eastern Market's only open on Sat and Sun but it's a good way to kill a couple of hours and easier to get to than Georgetown.

Eastern Market is open Tuesday through Sunday. Where on earth did you get this idea?

Eastern Market is a poor cousin of Faneuil Hall.

Faneuil Hall is in Boston. And I don't know the vendors there.

Which is where SoxNats is coming from. Him going to Eastern Market would be a huge waste of his time. Unless he has a hankering for an organic onion.

No organic's there. Mrs. Calamaris isn't into new age crap. Besides I don't care what some Sawx fan wants, I was clearing up the fact that Eastern Market IS open 6 days a week. The Grand Reopening is scheduled for the end of June.

Faneuil Hall is a food court. It's Ok I guess, but still a foodcourt.

I guess because I only go there on Sat and Sun and not at all for the food, I go there for all the other vendors.

Seriously...Legal Seafood is all good and well, but you can get their chowdah at DCA and not even get on a plane.

There's a really skeevy strip club near Dupont Circle (on the Metro Red Line) called the Royal Palace, if the amazing free museums on the Mall are not to your liking.

That's what that darned thing called school is for lol

Red line to green line - change at Gallery Place. It's easy, I promise.

Yah, but there is no place to meet up with IRA gun runners like the Black Rose.

Going tonight. 208, if the coworker brings ni her unusable tickets.

There's also a good one (enlarged a year or so ago) four stops up the Green line from Nationals Park, right across from the Phone Booth at Gallery Place station. In fact I went there between the two Phillies matches a few Saturdays ago.

I'm in.

Yahoo! Weather is only predicting a 'stray thunderstorm' for that day so it looks promising on that front.
