Honestly, why would you want to stay in that part of town. It's hike to any restaurants or anything to see, and quite far from sightseeing or trendy neighborhoods to visit (no offense to nearby residents like blue  )

I'd tell you the same thing. The Hotels near the ballpark cater to defense contractors, not normal folks.

I started heading out after the 10th; caught the bottom of the 11th from outside the Centre Field Gate then headed decisively to the Metro after Johnson, Zimmerman and Dunn struck out. Even with Metrorail running later, I still need to get to Pentagon City before the buses knock off for the night (unless I want to get a cab from there, which isn[t difficult but is pricey if done too often).

Metro suggestion (especially for Virginia residents), park near a Green line stop if at all possible, I park at the meters on L'Enfant Plaza Promenade near the L'enfant Plaza Hotel, the meters are free after 6:30 and on the weekends and you only have to put up with Metro for two stops (entrance to the metro is through the hotel).  Metro is good about getting us out of the ball park but not home.

I stayed through to the (very) bitter end Friday and then went back for more on Saturday, I haven't wanted to read the WNFF all weekend.

But, I'll be back tonight! Go Nats!!

My problem with that is that I don't drive (haven't driven in 30 years) - it's Metro or no-go.

And I'll be back tonight too - I waited too long (1977-2004 residency here) for baseball to bail now.

You should spend the money on a beer at the Hawk and Dove instead.

I'm supposed to go on the 21st.  HOWEVER, I have a job interview early Friday Morning.  I don't want to have a raw throat for a 2 hour interview.   :?

Watch, if I don't go, they'll win!   Great for you guys though!

I believe it is committed, but hopefully I can dodge the men with the white coats for a little while longer....but if we have another melt down tonight, I may voluntarily commit myself, provided the hospital doesn't get MASN

You could also use recommended.  For example, "Galah, I recommend you see someone about your masochism."  See?

Got it!
"Galah, it is recommended that you STOP going to Nats games due to the increased risk of high blood pressure, heart attack, severe depression, outrage and moral indignation that this is likely to cause."

Trouble is the Bohemian in me just won't let me NOT use tickets I've already paid for....must remember this when it comes time to buy next years plan.....

(gotta admit, there's just something sweet about watching a Zimmerman HR pass close over your head, or hear/watch McClouth and the ball bounce off the wall for Nick Johnson's triple....)

One more game for me, tonight, then I'm swearing off baseball until Toronto comes to town.

Sure would be nice if I got to see them win one more game before I head out of town.....

I'll be there tonight.  If you see somebody sitting near the Nats bullpen in an Expos hat, it's probably me.  Come on up & introduce yourself.

Taking the family Friday night.  What time do you usually have to get there to get a table at the Red Porch.  We were thinking around 5.

DC should be a ghost town this weekend. The games I've been to, there have been plenty of tables.

Depends on whether you want to watch the game from there too (two hours is more than enough time to eat.
I haven't seen that long of a line at the porch, seems that folks get seated pretty quickly.

You should have no problem if you get there at 6:30, but 5:00 will give you the pick of the litter.
