If you're assessing how good a pitcher is, wins are absolutely one of the worst metrics.Pretty self-evident.
Winning games is how a team is measured.
There's the rub. It's how a TEAM is measured, but wins as a stat for individuals doesn't indicate their personal skill level, since they're actually contingent upon the performance of teammates.
My other favorite team, the Cleveland Indians shut out the White Sox today behind a commanding start from ace Cliff Lee.7IP, 0R, 9/1 K/BB.Lee is right at a 3.00 ERA for the year yet he's only 2-5. Talk about crappy run support.
Bite me.The Sox are slowly turning into a really crappy team.
Brett Cecil has two quality starts since being called up. He goes again tonight against the Sox and John Danks.

have you seen his PECOTA projection?
9:19am: Jon Heyman says the White Sox and Padres have agreed to a Peavy trade, and await Peavy's approval. Ken Williams, always operating under the radar. Now we get to see just how much Peavy hates the AL.
why? The White Sox are terrible. What do they need him for?Good for the Pads though.
: ESPN's Jerry Crasnick talked to Axelrod, who gave the impression that Peavy is leaning against accepting the trade:"If I had to make a bet on it, I would guess that Jake would say he's not ready to take that step today. But he wouldn't necessarily preclude it at any time in the future."Peavy maintains his strong preference for the NL.
LOL @ BowdenHoly crap, why did we have that guy as GM for so long?
