Is that agreement or disagreement?  Obviously something is not working (and yes I am aware the Z-man is hurt).

Disagreement.  We lost 2 out of 3 games to the best team in the league.  Not the time for running around in panic mode.  And besides, we have no bench, we have no hitters in the minors, who the F are we going to promote that's better than who you'd propose we demote?

Agreed. I think its time to switch up the lineup though. Maybe move Espinosa up, keep Ramos 5. Ankiel/Morse 6/7, Desmond 2 or 7, etc.

Agree.  Not the time to demote anyone (maybe cut Gaudin), but the lineup could use some adjustments.  At least for now.  Definitely less Pudge though.

First back to back CGs for the Phillies since 1999. 12 years!

Who was the freaking donk that says this crap happens all the time? :?

It doesn't happen all the time anymore but it used to happen all the time.

2B Espinosa
SS Desmond / CF Ankiel
RF Werth
1B Laroche
C Ramos
CF Ankiel / SS Desmond
LF Morse
3B Hairston

A good season: Camilo Pascual in 1959 went 17 - 8 with 18 complete games (or 16...you can look it up). I think he had six shutout, finished aong top three in strikeouts, with a 2.70 ERA. He also hit about .312, which led the Nats.

I remember a big whoopdedo in the mid-70s when Sparky Anderson said he only expected about seven innings from his starter. I can't think of a 20-game winner on those Reds teams.

Only Tom Seaver in 1977 and that was split with the Mets

Some would have you believe that I cost the team the game because I posted the word "Perfect" 8)

Hey Rick Ankiel, did you think Zimmermann had a shot at a perfect game/no-hitter? "Absolutely. Didn't you?"

Wow, awesome. I was actually at the Hershey Bears' hockey game in Philly country and the game was on in the background and saw some of the errors we committed. (No way! errors? Nationals?)

Let's beat the Brewers.

Coming into this series, I wasn't looking forward to being at the ballpark these last three nights. The hope was that we would at least win the Blanton game, figuring that Halladay and Lee would likely result in losses. At the end of it all, we ended up where I expected. From that perspective, it wasn't so bad. What made it disappointing was seeing us give away so much. Despite coming in assuming Halladay would be dominant and Lee likely being a tough one to face as well, this game was winnable, and the Phillies are not the offensive juggernaut they have been in the past. Good pitching and defense can stop them. And the Nats did that fairly well. They simply can't stop making stupid mistakes. And the offense is in complete suck mode.

We can call out Morse and Pudge easily, but the reality is that other than two rookies, they've all sucked. Just getting something going in that department could turn them around. It's just hard to end a half dozen slumps against aces. And this team doesn't help itself the way it runs into so many outs.

They need to stop pressing, focus on having quality at bats and simply ride that out. What they can do, is stop freaking up so often and giving away runs and outs.
