Braves suck,  The Divisions is there for the taking

Nats have to take advantage.

I havent been around as long as some of you here but personally I have no reason to hate the Cards. They are a good team. Yes they eliminated the Nats from the playoffs but The Nats had a part in that. They squandered away a 6 run lead. Right now I am eyeing division title and the Cards are not in our division so they are not the immediate threat to us. I will always want the team that is not the immediate threat to beat the team that is. And the braves are the immediate threat. So yes I want the Cards to win. Just like I wanted the Giants to win over the weekend... and I confess, even though the Marlins are in our division it was alot of fun seeing them sweep the Braves...

Yeah they're trash talking after the win was so CLASSY

After all teams were at or above .500 a few days ago, the Phillies are starting to show their true colors and fade. While the Marlins are on top now, their 11-game west coast trip will be a true test for them. They are pitiful away from home this season and I'd say there's a good chance they return to Miami under .500. As for the Barves, they've proven that they can't score runs lately - only San Diego has plated fewer runs so far this season. In their last 10 games, they have scored 0 or 1 runs in seven of them. After the Cubs this weekend, they take on the Giants, Cardinals, and Brewers, so I bet they start to fall in the standings pretty quickly.

Marlins are going to struggle on the road. Padres stink but should at least take 2 vs Miami including tonight with Kennedy on the mound.

Please tell me their luck will run out soon. Ridiculous. Ian Kennedy pitched a hell of a game against them last night and the Marlins still found a way to win.

And tonight they have Fernandez pitching. :?

I think the Marlins are legit. They can hit and pitch.

Maybe they're lucky in the bullpen as they do trot out Mike Dunn.

The Fish will drop off eventually. Weren't the Mets first in the division, over .500 a few games, in 2012 around this time?

Eovaldi, Koehler, and Alvarez all have ERAs under 3. I like Eovaldi but the other two are due for some regression IMO.

Mets, Marlins and Nats were tied for first on June 3. Both teams then lost series, the Mets to the Nats and the Fish were swept by the Braves and it was downhill from there.

The second best thing about that season was that the Phillies were not even part of the conversation.

I'm not worried about the Marlins being ahead of us in September of 2014, but they might be in Sept of 2015.

Yeah, they're late on their win world series/blow up team/repeat cycle

Both the ring and being traded to a contender.  It is actually a nice cycle for a great player.

The Braves have endured their worst stretch of the season and still have a 1.5 game lead over the Nats for the division.  Not a good sign for the Nats who continue to play poorly and give games away.

Wouldn't a ring make your team a contender?     :couch:
