normally, i would have little to no faith in the old Nationals vs CC, but i've got confidence in these NEW and IMPROVED Nats. the question is...is CC ready for this revived Nats offense?!

This is the Moment of Truth.

are these Nats really new and improved?  or were they just playing bad teams?

this series is where we start to find out.

this is also our first opportunity to really be a "spoiler" and really screw up someone's postseason plans.

a win tonight would be the biggest confidence boost I can think of for this team.

i guess you could consider us taking 3/4 from the Rockies as playing spoiler, since we crushed their already fading hopes of catching the Dodgers/D-Backs.

despite the Rockies being defending NL Champs, I don't think they had a realistic chance anyway with their lack of pitching and injuries.

the Brewers are a real-deal contender.

I'm wiping the slate clean of the last seven games.

The Nats now face a real pitcher and a team that has a chance. The Reds and Rockies are tee-ball teams compared to what the Nats are going against tonight.

It will be interesting, especially after a couple of the players having to play two games yesterday.

Has anyone noticed that in his first start Balester was hitting 95-96mph, but since seems to be around 91, 92mph?

He has the potential to be so good, but he is still such a pup. That wild pitch showed it.

Anyone else notice that earlier in the Kearns at-bat they had 1 run on the MASN scoreboard to the Nationals?
