Lefties on the hill tonight. Should be an offensive game, with Francis and Perez going.

tonight will be a true test of how "rejuvenated" this team is. if these are the new and improved Nats like i claim, we will bounce back from last nights loss.

this is Francis' first start since coming off the DL, hopefully we can welcome him with a fury of hits.

This won't help Felipe Lopez win any friends with the DC crowd, but he didn't have many in the first place. My man Derrick Goold from The St. Louis Post-Dispatch passed along a few comments from Lopez, the newest Cardinal.

About coming from St. Louis to Washington:

"It's like night and day. You go from somewhere that's dead last and the energy is not there. You come here and as soon as I walked in I felt that energy. That inspires you, that motivates you to play well. ... They were trying to develop young players. I was not in their plans for the future."

On not hitting:

"Like I said, the motivation - just being dead last, I guess. Like going out there knowing you're probably going to lose isn't motivating. That's tough. That's tough, for me."

That nag never won in Cincy yet he wasn't nearly as bad as he was here.

 :hang: :bang:

Dukes needs to take his time recovering, sit out the rest of the season, and come back prepared for a breakout season in 09.

oh freak you felipe you little pouty nag.

Lopez can kiss my ass, you just KNEW he was gonna go straight to the media to talk crap about the Nats as soon as he suckered some team into signing him.

Felipe needs to worry less about the Nats and more about learning to hit in the major leagues.

Holliday just make me throw up a little bit in my mouth by saying how great Debbi Terrible is. He said she was the best reporter in all of MLB. She's not even the best in our area.

I'd just assume we play a DH tomorrow so we at least split the series.

Double header tomorrow probably. I hope the first game still starts at 3 because that is exactly when I get off work. It probably would because 3 PM here is 1 PM there. You can't start a game much earlier than 1.

wow, yeah, the rain is literally just stalled over Denver. It is not moving one bit. Almost completely stationary as the system rotates counterclock-wise.
