He tried to tear the cover off the ball there. Come on, Lo Duca.

Two horrible at bats with two on and one out.

Lo Duca is trash. Who gives a freak that he doesn't strike out a lot and is a contact hitter? Instead of striking out on pitches out of the strike zone he pops them up or hits little weak grounders. Same result as striking out.

I'm afraid we've scored all we're going to score tonight.

Ya know, I was looking forward to going to the Nats O's games with my Oriole fan friends, but now I'm dreading it a little.

I can't believe we actually have more hits than they do.

Worse if you hit into a double play.

I gotta think that I could hold these guys to under three runs.   :)

On a positive note, Bergmann's been pretty solid tonight.

Definitely. Lo Duca is now hitting .196. Pretty good from a contact hitter, heh?

What is that? About 1 mil per a hit?

You gotta give Paulie the benefit of the doubt. He'd be knocking the hell outta of the ball if he could just juice up a little bit.

Hey just got back, saw that we're down 3-1 but 2 unearned runs... how is Bergmann pitching?

OT: I read today that Carl Pavano has made around $400,000 per inning (19 starts) since he signed that $40M deal four years ago.

I'd call that a good-to-great outing for Bergmann.  Quality start, and the game would be tied if we had any kind of defense.

Quality start for Jason. Pretty much the same game from yesterday. Pitching can't win the game for you, it can only keep the game close. Offense wins games but unfortunately we don't have any.
