Hello Tiger,

Is your favorite AL team from Detroit or a big golf fan?

Maybe LaTiger is a LSU fan?

I´m a Nats fan all the way up from Sweden (the snowy north) and I've been lurking around this forum posting for a while and I thought I'd introduce myself, so here goes...

When I first got into baseball (unfortunately baseball is not a big sport in Sweden) the nats were the expos and I kind of got transferred to dc. That actually turned out very fine since my best Swedish childhood friend is since long living in Lynchburg, VA.

Being located up in northern Europe and being six hours ahead you guys in time, the sunday afternoon games are the easiest to catch. Having (almost) no cable coverage of baseball means I'm pretty addicted to the game feeds on mlb.com and that actually works fine.

However, last year was really cool since I was able to make my first vist to Nationals park! It was also my first ever US baseball game (I was living in Japan for a while and saw a few games over there). I've always been in the US out of the baseball season before. John Lannan and the nats took on and lost against the phillies, but what a great day. Loved the stadium and met som really nice people. Hope to make it soon again.

Sorry for the long post, but I've gotta a lot of luv for the Nats!

Helllllo, everyone, I've been lurking for a while but have decided to start posting. I am from Fort Smith, Arkansas, and have actually become interested in Major League Baseball due to the Nationals.

I have a simple reason for liking the Nationals; I am a DC sports fan. I have family who live in DC and I hope to someday continue my education at Georgetown.

I hope you all are proud to have the only Nationals fan in the Natural State posting on this board.

I've been the only active posters in Vermont here for a while...trust me, it's not all it's cracked up to be... ;)

We need to start some kind of map for all the states (and nations) in which Nats fans are residing.

nice to see the dedicated ex-pats on the board....that and it's the best way to get news about the Nats when you can't be in DC.
Welcome.

Big hockey fan?

Definitely!  :D

The NHL is a big thing here in Sweden. I always liked the Capitals and Calle Johansson. Now Bäckström is doing great.
But growing up I have to say Gretzky's oilers, talk about a great team!

Otherwise I have to say Börje Salming is my favourite Swedish player. His hard-nosed attitude changed the perception of Swedish hockey players but also changed the attitude of a lot of Swedish players.

Welcome aboard joabee. It's nice to see we have fans abroad.

I always bring my international friends to games when they come to the US. I've been told that football's appeal is instantly apparent, while baseball takes time to appreciate.

Unfortunately, you are not the first Swede to go to a Nats game - took friend to one a couple years ago

Back in the day, there was this guy blazing the trail with the Caps:

Bengt Gustafsson, a total class act and a hell of a player.
