Great Uncle / Pseudo Grandpa
« on: February 15, 2008, 06:04:04 pm »
Skipping the horrid details, I've been on/off guardian over my sister's kids, and especially the older ones (twin girls), who moved in with us years ago, and who we put through college.  Anyway, one of them just had a little girl about 15 minutes ago.  I'm a first time great uncle, but feel like a first time grandpa. :icon_mrgreen:

Congratulations! It sounds like you've earned the grandpa title.

Thanks, everyone.  I'm supposed to get some pics via e-mail whenever the other twin gets home.  Otherwise, I'm heading over there tomorrow and will take some myself.

I gave Sally the "weapons free" with the Amex Card tonight.  You will NOT be getting your economic stimulus checks as little miss Avery is to be spoiled beyond all comprehension, and $200 billion was just injected into the economy.

I'm a first time great uncle, but feel like a first time grandpa.

You are actually now a granduncle.  A great uncle would be one generation older, like a great grandfather.  Good health and many World Series victories to the newborn.

Here's a good video about little girls.  I put it on the video thread too.

Ohh, she's precious, and looks very healthy. What are her "stats" (i.e., height and weight)?

She is a cute little thing.  She came in at 19" and 6 pounds 3 oz.  She's pretty quiet - doesn't coo, she squeaks, and sleeps alot (of course she's barely a day old, but nonetheless I'm expecting to get a knee-buckling 12-6 curve out of her by Thursday).  I did get something of a smile out of her when I tickled the back of her neck.  At least I'm counting it as a smile.

Just as long as she didn't "fluff" at the same time, then I guess its a smile.

Yes, but there could be others, such as DPI (diapers pooped in).

Definitely a cutie! Sounds like she's already a grandpa's girl. :)

What a precious little thing! So, Mike, does this bring back memories of bringing your own sweet bundle home some years ago?  You have every right to be the proud grandpa w/ this adorable bundle!  You can tell her that your online family says congrats, too!!
