The advertisements for that Money Ball movie make it seem like it might be worth watching. Then again, maybe they are the high points of the movie.

Ben Badler from BA said on Twitter that it was "unintentionally hilarious" and that he thought it was really awkward and melodramatic.

I thought Sorkin wrote the script?

Zaillian rewrote Sorkin's rewrite.

Warrior was fantastic.

Nick Nolte deserves some kind of acting nomination for this one. Played his role perfectly.

If I had a dollar for every time I'd heard that this century, I'd have one dollar.

Why have I not seen her in the BWT? You're slipping Hammonds.  :nono:

Just finished up X-Men: First Class

Solid popcorn flick, and gave a good insight of the early years of the X-Men universe.

With Netflix splitting off the DVD by mail portion of the company completely (Qwikster), they have also promised "substantial" additional streaming content to the now streaming-only Netflix.  Hope it's decent stuff and not just a bunch more crap movies that I'll never watch.

They lost 600K subscribers last month. They're scrambling.

I use the streaming service for the TV shows. They just added all of the seasons of Breaking Bad. I've never watched that series, but will do so as soon as I finish up Battlestar Galactica. You're right about the movies though. Pretty much nothing but junk.

They're idiots. With cheaper options now available, they decide to raise prices.

1. Lose customers
2. ?
3. Profit

What cheaper options?  In addition, the content providers are demanding more money per subscriber from them.  They are every bit as much to blame as Netflix, honestly.  Starz wants 10x as much as their current deal alone.

Uh oh, people can stream movies and thus aren't buying DVDs.  Make it harder/more expensive to stream and they'll buy DVDs instead!  Um, no, I either won't watch anything like I used to, or I'll torrent it.  Idiots.

Amazon is cheaper, but not necessarily better.

For DVDs, Red Box is a cheaper option unless you are watching movies every few days. Blockbuster also has $1 rental stations set up. Shocking, a rental place gets market control and then starts to make mistakes. Competitors undercut on the price and become the better option. Rinse, repeat.

For streaming, Netflix's selection of material to stream was so pathetic (IMO, as of a few months ago) that it wasn't worth the money.

Decent book, couldn't stomach the start of the movie and never tried to re-watch it.

Redbox is handy in a pinch, but the selection stinks unless you're just checking out popular movies from the same year.

Fast forward past it (I don't like that much violence either). The rest of the movie is fascinating in the dark, Cohen Brothers way. There's more violence throughout, but not as excessive.

I didn't know it was a book until now. I'll have to look for it.

Decent book, couldn't stomach the start of the movie and never tried to re-watch it.

I thought it was $99 which would make it more, but it looks like it's actually $79 a year, or $6.58 compared to Netflix's $7.99 a month.  I think it has a smaller library, though I'm not sure since I don't have it.
