WTF????

the ability to Bash Guzman is slowly being drained from me.

what's gotten into him?  an who shall take the brunt of my anger now?

Brad Wilkerson

oh hell naw, not my Wilky!! I'm mean seriously who else on this "painfully slow" roster could play leadoff half as decent as Wilky or "Bluegrass" has been able to. And he's so damn flexible; Left, Right, Center, and 1B I definetly think everyone here underappreciates Wilky!!

Hey, don't shoot the messenger!  Just making a prediction, not a prescription.  Wilkerson frustrates me more than any other player and others probably feel the same way.  Doesn't mean that I don't like the guy, because I do.  It's just that he's the most frustrating National behind Guzman, except Wilkie actually comes through every so often.  "Double or nothing" and all.

Agree with you about his defensive skills.

R&B, anyone?

I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
That's when the Nats are in mid-game
I'm gonna wait till the midnight hour
But hell, I'm sleepy all the same
I'm gonna listen and keep awake
Until the win the Nats will take
In the midnight hour

(just keepin' myself conscious)

Is it just me or has Nicky stopped working the count as well since his long stint on the DL?

You must have never heard the Chambers Brothers' version!  Or the Wilson Pickett, for that matter.

Well since his average's gone from .320 to .289, I would definitely think so

This is a big inning.  Two of the three Padres who have hits are coming up.

Wow, what a quick inning.  Let's keep it going... just three more outs (no, not strikes).

I was just thinking to myself when someone suggested to take John Patterson out so he can rest in the 8th: Frank Robinson would never do that. Frank Robinson's style is to say, "It's his game. He's earned the right to continue playing." It's very short term thinking in my opinion.

I don't think I've ever seen a 5 pitch inning before!

It was me, and yeah, Frank generally keeps his pitchers on a short hook, but if you are one of his favored, an "ace", he will pretty much let you have it any way you want unless you are really cooking up a stinker.

I'm not sure who I'd rather have in the 9th...  Pads have seen a lot of Patterson tonight, but on the other hand it might be nice to give the Chief some more rest and keep the Pads from getting an early look at him in case we need him in games 2 and 3.

Well, on the other hand (there's always that other hand) we will need the whole damn bullpen to pitch tomorrow's nutty game, won't we? lol

Patterson's out.  They're putting in a PH (didn't catch who).  I'd take it as a given that the Chief is in (unless he's not).
