Great... I hope this solidifies Bacsik getting sent down on Tuesday.  He is just a terrible, terrible pitcher.  I also want to know who is responsible for us sending 3 LH starters in a row against the D'Backs who are the best team in the majors against Lefties.

I agree ... I'm confident that he'll be fine - he's always made the adjustments, sometimes it just takes a little longer - I also think not having Dmitri hitting behind him as changed the way he's been pitched to a bit ...

You're right of course but I think he needs to become the type of player that defies lack of protection and I think he's capable.

I haven't really followed the dbacks much ... but I thought I heard he was having a really good year ... am I wrong about that?

I'm not really sure but I think he's a bum.

You gotta go with what you've got. You can't alter your rotation based on that and start calling up players for the sake of favorable matchups. Guys are getting paid and should be able to do their job irrespective of which side of the plate the opponents hit from (especially starters). Besides, Lannan was a beast last night.

This Micah Owings has a 4.96,   He would have fit nicely between Ramon Ortiz and Tony Armas in our rotation, last year with that ERA.

We should be getting to him early and often.

This umpire's strike zone is suspect.

I'm confident that he's capable of that too ... it really is interesting - he was primarily drafted as a defense first guy - the batting was a bonus - but that's what happens when you do something so well - particularly in your first year - it's ironic that he has to now live up to himself - but I'm with you ... I certainly think he's capable of that ...

That all depends on how high the expectations are set for each specific player. For some players it's not difficult to live up to high expectations because they are rightfully set high. It's not that way for others (see Church) because the expectations are set too high for them to begin with. I don't know why people are so convinced that Church is a stud, (oh yeah I remember now).

It's getaway day. What these guys don't realize is that the plane will not get them home any sooner if they roll over and play dead.

It really doesn't matter who is on the mound.  Micah Owings, Brandon Webb, Joe Pitcher... Anyone can get these guys out with ease.
