Nationals @ Giants, Game 3
« on: August 08, 2007, 05:55:20 pm »
Game Time: 10:15 pm    TV: MASN2    Radio: WTWP 1500, 107.7 FM

Matt Cain
3-12, 3.93 ERA

Tim Redding
1-2, 2.43 ERA

(CF) Dave Roberts
(SS) Omar Visquel
(RF) Randy Winn
(LF) Barry Bonds
(1B) Ryan Klesko
(SC) Bengie Molina
(3B) Pedro Feliz
(2B) Kevin Frandsen
(SP) Matt Cain

Felipe Lopez (SS)
Ronnie Belliard (2B)
Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
Dmitri Young (1B)
Austin Kearns (RF)
Ryan Church (LF)
Brian Schneider (SC)
Nook Logan (CF)
Tim Redding (SP)

_______________________________________ ______________

Redding had another quality outing on Friday night, tossing 6 1/3 innings and yielding
just one run on seven hits against the Cardinals. The run was scored in the second
inning, when St. Louis right-hander Kip Wells singled to right field to drive in Adam
Kennedy. In his last two games, Redding has stuck out 16 batters over 12 1/3 innings.
Asked if he was back to being the Tim Redding who was blowing everybody away in
the Houston organization, the right-hander didn't want to look back into the past.

Another brilliant start from Cain resulted in another no-decision and another loss for
the Giants. Cain carried a shutout into the eighth inning against the Padres in his last
start, before leaving with a three-run lead, one out and two on. The lead evaporated
as soon as Cain came out, and the Giants provided no additional run support in extra
innings. The outing was a rerun of most of Cain's season, especially vs. San Diego.
Cain has allowed just five runs combined in his past three appearances against the
Padres, and the Giants have lost them all.

As you may have noticed, I tweaked around the Gameday format to fit in the TV and Radio listing, as well as make the pitcher previews mesh better with the layout.

ESPN probably reserved the rights to every game in the series...

Don't think so.  ESPN isn't televising today's game or tomorrow's.
