My hierarchy of blame is.

1. Ownership.  They are trying to squeezes every dollar and hired and retained the GM and Manager.

2. Rizzo. He makes all the drafting and development and roster decisions.  Sure Davey can recruit but it’s his decision.

3. Martinez.  Not much of a manger. But because of 1 and 2 doesn’t much matter.

I think Lucas Sims just took the lead in the DFA race.

Davey's platoon at all costs adds to the clown show.   Since Buster Posey took over Giants baseball ops they've been pushing lineup consistency and gotten solid results.

Poche makes less than half as much, so Rizzo won't upset Mini Me as much by cutting him first.  Still, don't think he'll be cut until late May/June at the earliest.

Meh.  It’s early.  And they have a better lineup and pitching.  Do you seriously think this is a .500 team? Is there any empirical evidence to support steady lineups? Plenty of teams have had success with platoons and different lineups.  The Phillies are rocking different lineups against righties and lefties and scoring tons of runs this week.

Two-for-one. Sims and Poche can drive away together. Nats can ship their extra uniformas or whatever from DC.

I saw Arizona optioned a bunch of guys who aren’t performing. It can be done. Challenge for us is lack of healthy replacements.

They'd fit perfectly in Waldorf on the Blue Crabs.

there are literally no healthy relievers in the minors on our 40 man roster. There's Lara, and that's it because I think I saw Shino is hurt. There's no one to call up.

There is always someone to call up.   Grissom, for sure.

If you DFA Sims/Poche then that would make room on the 40 man.

Adon has been tried over and over as a starter. He has failed. So has Alvarez. Neither has a future starting in DC. Maybe they can handle an inning in place of Poche and Sims.

Then the Nats "only" need to replace Salazar and Lopez-the-Lunatic.

don't get me wrong - I want those guys gone. I just don't know who off the roster we should add to give a chance. Grissom might be the best healthy option in the system, and he's in AA.

neither of those guys are on the roster. The question is, which off-roster option do you try?

Release any two of Salazar, Lopez, Sims, and Poche.

Poche bought himself another outing.
