When I lived in Miami the old timers still talked about the time it snowed back in the 70s...I'm sure it took forever to shovel out driveways with the little spoons everyone wore around their necks in those days
It didn't really snow. All we got were flurries. And it still closed all the schools, since the pipes weren't protected from freezing. I had to wear a purple woman's coat that my mom found in a thrift shop because we had no winter clothing. It was quite the traumatic experience. I was 9, so I am not sure if I qualify as an old-timer now, though.
