Ok thats quite the stretch for a 26 year old undrafted guy who has been in the minors for a while. If he could be a good third or fourth liner that would be amazing.  Looked it up and he’s under contract through next season.

I get the feeling that he’s going to get close this year and fall just short. And that will keep Ted smiling as the normally slow ticket sales for October and November will be robust.

He's scoring goals at about 0.8 per game, and there's more than half a season left. I think he gets this done before the Nats opening day

It'll be March 18 in DC against Detroit. Why? Because I have tickets to that game, but I may wind up having to be in New York for work that week. (Taking an afternoon train home for the game wouldn't work because I'd have to take a 5:00 AM train back up to New York the following morning, which would mean either staying up all night or getting up at 3:30 AM to drive to Union Station.)

It'll be tomorrow in Ottawa in a 22-goal scoregasm after which he sinks his stick into the pavement on Parliament Hill from which it can never be removed by a mere mortal

So the Supreme Court just upheld the law banning TikTok. I wonder what that means for the Capitals because they have TikTok as the sponsor on their white road uniforms. Caesars Sportsbook is the sponsor on the home uniforms, but NHL rules prohibit them from having that on the road uniforms because road games take place in jurisdictions where sports betting, and advertising it, may not be legal.

Interesting because the NHL plays in countries where TikTok is not banned and clearly the Caps would be obliged to wear it in Canada and overseas.  I guess it extends to whether or not they have been paid in full for the sponsorship...like the Nats and Terra.  Can't see where it does any harm to keep wearing it even if the service is not available here...but if they haven't been paid in full, there'd likely be no obligation if the league forbad it....

the contract is still enforceable against the entity that signed it. If it is Bytedance, then it is enforceable against Bytedance. I imagine there's some sort of consent to jurisdiction. If it is US Tiktok, then it is still enforceable against the entity until it shuts down. as  I understand the law banning tiktok, it targets google, apple, and other app providers saying they can't carry tiktok rather than making it illegal to have it on your phone (and making millions of americans criminals). So US tiktok is still a thing. Also, Biden's people have  said they will not enforce the ban, leaving it  for DJT. He's having the head of TikTok in his tech leaders' seats along with Zuck, Musk, Bezos, Cook, and the head of Google, so i don't imagine there's much exposure to DOJ for a while

I think that the thing with Terra is that as long as the Nats perform their end of the bargain (display signs, logos on the seats, list them as a sponsor, etc...), they are not in breach and have a claim to Terra's assets as a creditor. They got paid up front in cash, so they have to perform to keep the money.

I listened to some commentary this morning on if Trump could get away without enforcing the law and the consensus among the legal commentators was that he could, much in the same way that Biden hasn't enforced the Comstock Act.

However, it seems likely that Google and Apple will avoid risk by removing TikTok from their app stores. Oracle hosts most of TikTok's US content and is likely to stop doing so as well.

Ultimately it would be up to Congress to rescind the law, but that's doubtful to happen.

really, the safest thing for the hosts is to enter into a CD that sets up some sort of schedule for compliance that stretches out for several months and sets up an escrow for low stipulated penalties ($1 / day) that gets refunded if the law is repealed within 1 year.
