I'll admit I more or less ignore social media and always have, but I do try to glean stuff from Nats blogs as well as wider national ones that have Nats relevent coverage. I thought it would be good to have in one spot a list of current blogs as well as other public sources for Nats discussion. I'm particularly interested in public sources for discussion, as well as news breakers and quality analysis on social media platforms. I suspect some of the groups are private, so I don't want those, of course.

I will start, but I'm sure somebody else has Golden / Nusbaum / Zuckerman / Blanco / Paulson X links, and I'm guessing there's others that I haven't hear of.

I'll start with a few I regularly look at:

1st on the list of blogs is Steve "Ghost" Mears at TalkNats - https://www.talknats.com/ Can make a good argument that it is the best out there for content and has the most active fan exchanges, and is independent.

District on Deck - https://districtondeck.com/ Sometimes some really good analysis from a variety of writers. Tied to Fansided Network. One thing I don't get about the site is how to comment on articles. Contacting the authors by social media seems to be the way.

Federal Baseball - Patrick Reddington, affiliated with SB Nation. https://www.federalbaseball.com/ Primarily game recaps, but often gives extensive quotes from pre-game and post-game pressers.

National Arm Race - http://www.nationalsarmrace.com/ - Todd Boss's site dedicated to minor league system coverage as well as draft and internationals. Very good analysis and knowledgeable enough to credibly question coverage by national sources.

NationalsProspects.com - https://nationalsprospects.com/ - Long time tracker of Nat system. Daily recaps of minor league games, plus comments.

MASN Sports - https://www.masnsports.com/nationals-home - Of course. Mark Zuckerman and Bobby Blanco both link off of this site. Also their X handles link there.

Another of course is the Nat's page on the WaPo - https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/

https://www.mlb.com/nationals - say no more.

Thanks for posting, good summary.

I check TalkNats for news, District on Deck for opinion.

I used my moderating super powers to bold the Nationals Baseball link in lylgreen's post. I don't know if I will continuously update the Op with new links, but the bolding makes the site standout.

Yup. It seems the general consensus is that where we typically used to get "breaking news on twitter", now the platform will be BlueSky. Mass abandonment of the old twitter platform.

Yep. The thing I like about BlueSky is that there's no algorithm pushing content into your timeline. And no ads (so far).

When we do post links to social media, it is probably worth posting parallel links if possible for X, Bluesky, and Threads, plus others that are relevant.

We've never set up a social media presence for WNFF. It's been very reliant on having folks stumble across us. I wouldn't know how to promote WNFF to drive in new members if I had to. I think The Chief is very ambivalent about it too.

I’ve looked for a Nationals starter pack, but no one has done one so far. I guess I could try to figure out how to make one and do it myself.

I like the Lists feature as well. I have my general Following list, but I have a separate List of my Favorites, and another List just for Nationals accounts I’ve found. It’s a nice way to keep stuff from getting buried in your general Following list.

Here's the official WNFF Twitter account, it has not been active in a very long time.

If you are just getting started on Twitter the best thing is to follow someone's Twitter List of Nats accounts. People make lists of all of their favorite accounts so that you can follow them all at once.
