Iran hits a goalpost twice within a few seconds. Clearly they must have the wrong God on their side.

Sorry God. I was wrong.

Only saw second half but Iran was clearly better. Not sure but seems the USA would have an excellent chance of advancing by beating Iran. No matter what happens today.

So why is Gio Reyna not playing? Saving him for Iran?  Maybe he will make an appearance. Inserting Wright seems an odd choice also.

Play ball!

Typical - I was delayed, getting home....Doesn't look like I've missed too much.

But the Global Powerhouse does have Saka playing soccer... ;)

How many more warnings does the Global Powerhouse need??

Excellent coaching and formation, from Team USA - the Global Powerhouse are the better team, but deserve criticism for not being able to play through the S&S's organization.

The Global Powerhouse appears to be experiencing an outtage...  Really sluggish and off pace.  Wakey Wakey!!!  ;)l

Lack of pace, and failing to close down the play, is giving the Stars & Stripes loads of space, so they look really good. The Global Powerhouse of this Summer, rather than of the Euro's...

Haven't seen 'Eagle Guy' - but George Washington is an acceptable substitute...

Respect to the Stars & Stripes - they deserved a better result.

Global Powerhouse completely lacking in intensity - Team USA just wanted it more. Didn't want everyone switching off, but the UK booth crew called it 0 -  0 after just 10 minutes...Playing for qualification - Wales would have to win 5 - 0 for us not to qualify.

A pretty unedifying, lack - lustre watch...That was pants... ;)  (for those of you who don't usually follow soccer, it isn't always like this! This was sort of Broncos v Chargers, on MNF earlier this season...)

Draw seems a fair result.  If USA cannot beat Iran they would get embarrassed in the next stage anyway.

For us, we need a win in qualifying to advance, and if you can't win a game, you should not advance.

What's the rule if your opponent seeks asylum at halftime?

England still winless in the World Cup against the USA (1–0–2).

I could not hear this on TV, but apparently the USA fans were chanting "It’s called soccer" at the disappointed English fans near the end of the game.

Well it looks like they’ve had two shots on goal in two games (memories of the Steve Sampson era), so they better make that one shot count next time

Chips or crisps?

Part of last nights festivities included people speculating about all the athletes apparently hocking junk food, e.g. if Beckham has ever eaten a Dorito
