If he's swinging and missing against HS arms .... ??? Doesn't bode well. But then both networks talked about the vaunted Nats development of players and put my concerns to rest. NOT!
There's definite risk. I think if he reaches his ceiling, he's probably a m275 guy. But that could come with 40 home runs and 30 steals, as well as good defense.
You never know how kids are going to adjust when they get to pro ball, or even as they climb the ladder. Luis Garcia was once lauded for his patience and approach. He has 2 walks in 42 games this year. Anyway, the Green strike out fear was more about his lerformsnces over the Summer. By all accounts he had a good senior season and eased some concern about it. But once a flaw, always discussed with these kids. You tend to focus on the negative with the kids that have been talked about so much. All of a sudden I've seen Termarr Johnson is too short and has no defensive home. That's BS. Also remember, Green is playing at IMG who probably plays the hardest amateur schedule. And, the kid has the work ethic that wants to improve. He's going to work.
Brady House had the same concerns as Green going from his junior to senior year and the draft. The jury is still out on him but I dont think we're unhappy with him.
I was surprised it wasn't Parada but very happy. I thought Lee might be the guy when the pick came up, but I like chasing the upside here. You don't find a ton of kids with these types of measurable, and we now have 2 with Vaquero and Green. I'm pumped to see them develop.
