Callis has the Nats taking Parada. Mayo has them taking Lee.

Gotta say, with the Soto rumors if they draft a fast-moving college player instead of going BPA in this draft I will lose my mind.

Just Callis in the mlb.com mock say the Nats would prefer the fast rising college bat. Even though I'd be disappointed in Parada, at least I get it to an extent. If Parada and Lee go in the top 4, and we pass on any of Green, Johnson, or Collier for Berry I'd be pretty pissed.

Eh, I can see Rizzo taking Parada or Lee this year, Dylan Crews next year, and thinking he can buy pitching in free agency to compete in 2024

This is perfectly said. I really want one of the HS studs, but I get wanting Parada or Lee. If they are both gone, that means one of the HS kids fell into our lap and I will be thrilled.

Can’t count on Crews due to the lottery unfortunately.

Eh, how often does the worst team not get the first pick in a lottery? Its pretty rare.

83.5% of the time the worst team will not draft 1-1.

Callis gut call on guys who go higher than projected: DeLauter, Neto, Susac, Cole Young, Peyton Graham, Gabriel Hughes. Says it's still difficult where the top arms will go.

If the Nationals can somehow get DeLauter in the second round, I will be a very happy person. Absolute stud.

The MLB lottery odds are public.  The worst team only has a 16.5% chance of getting the first pick, and that's before Manfred freaks with the odds.

fwiw, the FG board has Neto 5th best, after Jones, Holliday, Lee and Johnson.  Reading the write up, he suppresses high school and college curent value hit tools to 20 or 25 for high school, 30 or 35 for college, because "I don’t think you can watch a high school hitter and have a real idea of how he’d hit if he were dropped in the big leagues tomorrow; consider this tact to be more informative. "  HE does give the full range for future value.

He has us taking PArada, with Berry, Collier, Lee, and Green on the board, and Neto grabbed ahead of us. This seems to be really . . . different.  He projects that both Pittsburgh and Baltimore will go for underslot players (Johnson 1-1, Neto 1-4).

Sounds like the Rangers are considering Parada.  Think I saw that on the MLB.com write up as well as Longehagen's calls.

Callis and Mayo actually had Prielipp and Horton going ahead of Rocker. But called Rocker an "enigma", they have no flipping clue lol

Actually Horton would be another Rizzo pick because he's a college RHP from Oklahoma and is named Cade

It’s an insanely stupid lottery but it’s par for the course for Manfred.

Just gonna put it out there: Ruiz is a Boras client. It actually might make sense to have a replacement available in 3-5 years
