Need a sample size at least through May.
Yep. I'm perfectly fine to let him work through all of this through June

I was always perplexed by the idea he would stroll into the season and play 3B. His potential is massive, the bat isn't there.

DeJong is your 3B for a while barring an 0-30 slump consider the defense. Jose Tena with his mind breakdown vs Marlins and adding to two outs in one inning probably put off his chance for a while. I think Cayden Wallace is first up and I wouldn't be shocked if a hot streak from Lipcomb or Baker got them into the conversation.

Rochester needs a retractable dome. Or at least a big top like a circus.

He's putting up similar numbers that compare to the rest of his minor league career, with limited walks and a ~.770 OPS.

Still, hasn't been bitten by the org's 1st round draft pick curse which is sinking Crews, Seaver King, and Elijah Green.

Slick fielding: https://x.com/RocRedWings/status/1913295224522031509

When they were down 8-0 and lost 20-7.   He's also got a very non-promotable .720 OPS.  Last time Rizzo promoted a first rounder with a sub .800 OPS it didn't go so well, and still isn't.

Yet, here we are messing around with DeJong and Rosario.   Ridiculous

I can see the argument for keeping house at aaa. But even then, how do you justify starting dejong and Rosario over Tena. It should be tena everyday until house is up

Fantastic game for House.

But i think the 2-19 with 10 K's in the previous 6 games tells you why he's in the minors.

Hes not ready. String a hot streak for a month, and then you're looking at a promotion.

Agree, he's not ready, but a later season call up could make sense.  He will undoubtedly struggle, but this team isn't going anywhere this season.

Getting him established at 3B will be a good step, because that position has been a rental hotspot since Rendon left, and it's time to top having so many rentals in the lineup, they never get flipped for anyone good regardless.  So I'm ok with him struggling for part of '25 to get him ready for '26.

He's on a 8 game hitting streak batting .364 with an OPS of .993 during the stretch.

Seems like the "when to call him up" discussion resembles the one about James Wood last year.

Good to see House doing well, but nowhere near what James Wood did last year.   Wood had a .463 OBP in Rochester last year with a 1.058 OPS and a nearly 1:1 BB:K ratio.  House a solid .836 OPS, better than what Dylan Crews had last year in AAA, but Wood was ready well before his call up.

That said, with the team going nowhere this year, makes sense to call up House and let him break in this year, his offense will likely be ugly, but the experience would help him in '26.   He still wouldn't get a full year of service, though our fine ownership and front pffice might want to wait until they get past the estimated Super 2 deadline.

FWIW: First 23 games at AAA:
House: .299 / .365 /.471 / .836, 3 HRs
Wood: .330 / .435 / .495 / .930, 2 HRs

Wood got promoted after 52 games and IIRC, would have been up earlier if not for a minor injury.

I don't want him up earlier than June. I want to be absolutely convinced that there's nothing more to be learned in AAA. With Wood, that was clear by mid-May 2024, then he got hurt.

With Crews, he was pushed to get him MLB time before he was ready with the recognition that he was likely in the Opening Day outfield (a gamble he'd succeed so well he won RotY in 2025). I don't really want to game House's time the same way Crews's time was gamed. Lesson Learned. House should be up when he has sustained success and nothing left to prove. That's a heck of a lot longer than an 8 game hot streak.

I don't see Rizzo promoting House unless Tena or Rodriguez get hurt, DeJong is done for months, or House keeps up a +.900 OPS. I can't imagine House here before July 1 at the earliest.

Rosario will be dealt if he's playing well. Right now, House is behind Lipscomb for "in emergency, break glass" position as an injury replacement

Maybe a September call-up...but I don't see him making the Bigs until next year...if then...
