5 games back, but 7 in the all-important loss column (AILC).

Huge series win. Not even accounting for Max and Stras being on the IL. Taking 3 of 4 from the division leader. Huge.

Disagree. We have enough to get a rental.
Had the division not been crap, you'd be right. But this team is a Kris Bryant/Marcus Seimen away from being in top of the division
True. The NL East is the worst division in mlb and it isn’t even close.

My concern is we will end up with the likes of Eugenio Suárez, watch him whiff 100-150 times, and wonder what could have been.

what wonderful non-answer by Schwarber about what he's doing now for his hitting.  Also, I love the thanking the fans, you guys were great, in order to get the fans more fired up about making noise.

but Antuna isn't getting it done, and Kieboom is just a busted prospect, I think.

Cavalli isn't going anywhere.

Good as this result was, it will never replace Ryan Zimmerman's 'Who's Your Daddy' game - Fathers' Day win at RFK Stadium over the Yankees, 2006.

If Rainey can become a reliable late-inning guy it would be huge.

I guess the Mutts have lots of doubleheaders coming up? Seven innings of course.

Wow. Every time I start to think the season is over Schwarber starts hitting and Corbin starts pitching.

Yes. Another one tomorrow. DeGrom might pitch one of the games. McNeill will be activated. Just watched "Mets Extra", which finished with a long interview with Kevin Pillar on why he has hit better this season. (Yawn).

Gary Apple says that Schwarber asked to be taken out of the game because his knee was beginning to bother him. Apple with a little grin. Todd Zeile adds, "From running around the bases so much."

So McCann visited the mound as Parra's "Baby Shark" began? Class move.

Yes, I missed the game. Was driving my daughter back to Brooklyn -- we live about as far from Brooklyn as you can get in Manhattan. That's my Father's Day excuse.

We still have two to make up with the Mets from the cancelled opening series. The Mets also had another series (missed due to snow or Covid; I can't remember which) to make up.

looks like we are playing rolls right now. Go until you lose. Others can disagree. Not my call, and the N2P tradition is to rest between starts

Unpopular opinion, but I enjoy Justin Maxwell. Now that they've got his mic adjusted.

He's steadily improving.  Already had the academic pedigree of course.    8)
