Yet another series loss.  Is it still early?  I've never watched a team labor so much to scratch out a couple of runs and then allow the other team to open the floodgates with ease.

Should have just left Clay in.  And why take Finnegan out now.  Just let him finish the inning.  And pitch the next couple as punishment.
Absolutely!!!

Son texts to ask how the Nats farm system got so bad that they had to start Voth and a collection of 1-inning kid relievers. I answered looked back at the score, and it's 7 - 4.

Nothing like a one hour half inning to give this team some confidence LoLz

Voth has pitched well this year.  It's unfortunate he went out early.

To be fair, on 6 June 2019, the Nats were 6 games under .500.

Recap: 3 cheap singles, 4 walks, 1 error, 1wp = 7 runs.

I wonder if the lack of fans at the park is a message to the owners and players with the stadium now at full capacity.  If the Nats keep playing like they have tickets will be cheap in DC also.  A strike next year could really be a disaster for both sides.

Actually, for a somewhat more apt comparison than the calendar, at the end of the 56th game of 2019, the team was 24-32. Assuming a loss today, the Nats will be 24-32.

Nice of the Phillies to give a free seminar on how to conduct yourselves with the bases loaded.  I hope the Nats were taking notes, but I doubt it.

Rochester beating Worcester (Boston AAA) 11 - 5. Kieboom had his 3rd homer, not hitting .240. Garcia had a homer, now .269. Jefry Rodriguez started gave up 5 runs in the 1st inning, so there went the suggestion that somebody made in the Post.

This team is just so bad. Rizzo hasn't made a good move in like two years.

Well then, at least something positive today.

That's all I can take for one day.

Go 0-1 on Tuesday.

Yeah, but that team had been missing several guys to injury in that first 19-30 stretch.  The injured guys (remember, Rendon missed 15 games out of the first 35 that year, Turner missed 39 of the first 50,  and Soto missed ten games in that stretch as well) were back by now, which is why they started winning.  They went from 19-30 to 24-32.

This team ain't that.  Yeah, Soto was out a little while, but Strasburg's gone too and he ain't coming back for a while.

One has to wonder whether Strasburg will ever go 5 innings again.

Even in this horrific situation, if Espino is the best thing the Nationals can run out there I’m thinking about making a comeback!!! Anyone want to play some catch with me after the sun goes down?

Let’s go NAAAAAATS!!!

I agree. I'm not really comparing the teams. It just struck me that with our nostalgically-induced rose-colored glasses, comparing this piss-poor season performance with the WS winning team kind of ignores that we were nagging and moaning and calling for a break-up and sell-off (albeit me as a lurker) at the same point in 2019 as in 2021. Just found it a little ironic.

Has the umpire been moving back and forth between 2nd and 3rd depending on the game situation?
