There just aren't a ton of at large invites. Virginia could miss the tournament. Penn State needs to beat Michigan to limit the at larges out of the B1G. Hopkins, G-town, and Denver losing complicated things for the Ivies.
There are 14 at larges into 8 slots. Penn might have a shot over Cornell based on 2 wins over them if there are 2 Ivies.
For Yale, losing their top 2 FOGOs, who were the best in the nation when they went down, absolutely killed them when they played Princeton. They could cover against a soft stretch in April (including Albany, who's not so soft), but against a quality face off guy, they just could not get enough possessions and were vulnerable to runs. Their defense, which stunk all year, played pretty well yesterday, and the goaltender had his best game in a while. This was a nice run with a team missing almost all of their projected starters due to injuries, other than Brandau. This will kill him for the PotY (Tewaarton Award) even though he's the top active scorer in college and 5th all time.
