I am happy to see the VGK's bounced from the playoffs...never cared for Fleury, likely just because he was a Pinguin, and I was somewhat disappointed in Schmidt's nagy behavior in the handshake line in 2018, having been a big fan of his while he was here. 

I will say that the Caps did a piss poor job of welcoming Schmidt to the phonebooth/ATM on his first appearance back as a GK...embarassing, really...as they made a brief mention of it during a faceoff while he was on the ice rather than a big deal during a stoppage in play, so I guess he may have had hard feelings as well.  He's a good player, with personality, and I wish we could have kept him.   

Kempny tore his Achilles while training in the Czech Republic.  Had surgery, and will be out 6-8 months...

So, that's the bad news...the only good news is it will free up most of his $2.5MM cap hit...
