So, do the Caps play anyone else besides the Penguins and Sabers this season?

It's the old Patrick Division (NJ/NYI/NYR/PHL/PIT) plus Boston and Buffalo.

New third sweaters unveiled this morning and will debut tomorrow. These replace the red alternates based on the original road uniforms.

Sprong is like the first Dutch NHL player that I can recall.  They win every medal in long-track speed skating and like coming in 2nd in the World Cup (a lot), but hockey players are a bit more scarce.

I'm diggin' the new sweaters...bought an Ovi one for our grandson.  I think this is his 4th Caps sweater...and he's just barely 2 years old...  :D

I like them a lot but it's weird seeing them in blue and I'll miss the red alternates' connection to the team's early years.

The one thing about the red alternates is that I think more fans felt a connection to that era's white sweaters than to the red ones because teams wore white at home in those days.

Hopefully Backstrom is OK.

Thanks. Found this. Sounds like he got banged up twice.  And Eller.

Per Alexa Shaw: Eller out tonight. Wilson TBD. Backstrom expected to play.

Glass half full.  Vanecek has been damned good but that Anderson signing is looking rather propitious.
