It's funny...  before the series began I felt this was just bonus baseball.  Of course I wanted the Nats to win, but I had no expectations and was thrilled with them winning the NLCS.  Now that they're up 2-0 I'm :nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

Same here. It kinda feels like the media is reminding everyone all the time about the three times a team up 2-0 coming home have lost.

That could mean that he's a fierce competitor but it could also mean that he's a stupid crap who is depriving himself of one of the fundamental food groups over 30 cents and needs to be put out of his misery.

Well, it's also why they call him special.

He's a strange quote goldmine.

Normally I would hold anyone who can run with a gut full of burrito in high esteem but today he is the enemy  :P

Grienke really hasn't had a very good post season at all.  Even the Yankees game where he only gave up 1 run was pretty shaky.  Walked 3 and gave up 2 hits in the first inning, but somehow kept them to 1 run.  Then gets pulled after 4 1/3 after giving up a single and walk.

I have never commented on the setup for a gameday thread before, but that is a great job.  Thanks!

https://wjla.com/news/local/alexa-nationals-world-series-prediction

Quote
That's right. Amazon's Alexa, a sophisticated AI product that answers random questions, has shared her prediction with the world.

"The Astros were favored to win, but the Nationals are peaking at the perfect time," Alexa says.

Alexa originally predicted the Astros would win it all, but she recently changed her mind. Hear her prediction below:

"My prediction? I'm picking my home away from home base team: The Washington Nationals," Alexa says.

Alexa ends her prediction with a classic baseball phrase: "Alrighty. Play ball!"

But of course Alexa. Your first home is the only other team to never make the World Series. I'll be looking forward to seeing you get friendly with the roboumps very soon..

would be really cool if they stop the game before Soto's first AB to have the crowd sing him happy birthday.

Sanchez pitched well against the Dodgers as well and their lineup is pretty good.

I would argue there line up is better.

Of course the media is playing that card, the Astros are the favored "Golden Child" team and they are behind. If the table was flipped and it was the Nats down 2 nothing then the media would be reminding us off their past failures and touting it as being a typical Nationals performance. They would also be praising the Astros and their past achievements and the godhead of Cole and Verlander and Altuve.

Take a look at the list of folks who have been active in the last 30 minutes.  Some great flashbacks.
