Tonight's win rest on Slateman and how well his dinner is cooked. I believe in him.

When did the term PA start being used instead of AB?

Not instead ..2 different context...

These only come into play when calculating when Zimm will be back ..

AB does not include walks, sacrifice flies, HBP, sacrifices.  It only includes things that impact batting average.  Plate appearance includes everything except I think sac bunts and maybe HBP.

Max goes 7, Stras goes 2,   Game 5, Voth, Fedde, Hudson-anybody but Rodney or Suero
Is Fedde on the roster?

Davey said his dream is Scherzer goes 7 or 8 to get him to Doolittle and Hudson.

I'm guessing worst case Strasburg comes in, and we're looking at Voth or Corbin in game 5

re: postseason GDT records - You may all thank me for falling on the sword last night :hang:

Actually, we would have WON last night, if NatNasty had created the GDT as planned, instead of The Chief.
                                    :punch:
There was also the problem of little dave taking Anibal Sanchez out too early and leaving in Corbin too long, and keeping Howie "The Baserunner" Kendrick at first base.

Taken under advisement.  This is the thread unless N2P wants to do one.

The Gameday Threads - 2019 sticky in Clubhouse is where people claim GDTs. If anybody bothered to look there, you would already know that NatNasty, who has a 1-0 playoff record (and won the YNOT guessing game season easily), claimed Sunday's GDT. The Chief wanted to do it, so NatNasty yielded, with the understanding that NatNasty would create tonight's GDT. NatNasty increases our winning chances by grilling beef.

So WHY didn't NatNasty create it today?

I'd be willing to take a game if that's amenable to everyone, but I'm totally fine with deferring to others for any reason or no reason at all

You don't need my permission.  Take tomorrow's!  If they win, I'm going to pay my butcher a visit on Monday so we can wrap this thing up in 4 games.

sorry N2P.  The confusion started today when someone jumped the gun on setting up a GDT.  It had a negative tone, so I then selected a positive post and broke the GDT appart.  Then the person who would have started the GDT deferred to Slate, who had started  the original thread. Folks wanted to start posting before NatNasty had a stub ready for today.  While I could do some magic and find a way to put a blank NatNasty post up from that he could fill in to jump NatNasty ahead of Slate, why don't we keep what we have and have NatNasty do game 5, assuming the Nats and Dodgers oblige?

Think of ABs as the denominator for batting average, and PAs as the denominator for on-base percentage.  Biggest difference is that walks don't count as at bats, but do count as plate appearances.
